Erie City Mission wins Mercyhurt University's Archbishop Oscar Romero Award
An area university recognized one nonprofit on its faith-based work for our community.
Mercyhurst University's Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy presented their Archbishop Oscar Romero Award to the Erie City Mission for the dedicated support in the area Monday evening.
Gannon University students host watch party to cheer on women's basketball team
The event included an award ceremony followed by an annual Romero Lecture by the Erie City Mission's president Brian Johansson.
Monday night's speech was called 'the privilege of serving our homeless neighbors.'
Local high school students learn valuable financial literacy skills
'What an honor it is for us to be recognized for the work that we do 365 days a year we work at the Erie City Mission serving those in need and it's nice to be recognized by our community in Erie,' said Johansson.
The date of the award ceremony was chosen to honor the feast day of Saint Oscar Romero.
