Television actors Romit Raj and Shilpa Shinde met on the sets of the TV show Maayka and, within six months of dating, decided to tie the knot. However, the couple soon realised that they weren't meant to be together and eventually called off the wedding. In a recent interaction, Romit shared the reason behind his broken engagement with Shilpa and how the two never met or remained friends afterward. Speaking to Siddhant Kannan about his past relationship, he said, 'Yes I dated Shilpa but that was 16 years ago. We met on the sets of Maayka. I had been in Mumbai for 10 years by that time and I had not been seeing anyone for that time and Shilpa is a very nice person, she was very helpful and kind to the technicians around and was very nice to me.
