LSU men's basketball fills out roster with star overseas guard
LSU men's basketball picked up its third commitment of the week. This time, it comes from one of the best international talents.
Israeli guard Ron Zipper will join the Tigers for the upcoming season, per an announcement on social media. The 22-year old has four years of eligibility after playing for one of the best professional leagues in Europe.
In Israel's first division, Zipper averaged 11 points per game and earned recognition as a sharp shooter, shooting 38% from three. He was the MVP of the 2021 FIBA U18 EuroBasket and a regular member of Israel's national teams. Now, the six-foot-four guard will try his hand at Power Four basketball.
LSU head coach Matt McMahon put in work over the last week to add to his team. Memphis' PJ Carter and UC Davis' Pablo Yamba committed to the program in the last week, adding to an active early period during the spring transfer portal window. With the addition of Zipper, the Tigers will certainly have a competition for time in the back court as he is the fifth new perimeter player.
