Ganoderma Lucidum: An Ancient Mushroom for Modern Health Benefits
Lingzhi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a medicinal mushroom regarded as a precious Chinese medicinal herb since ancient times. It is well known for its benefits of 'tonifying the five internal organs and prolonging life.' In NTDTV's 'Health 1+1' program, Shu Rong, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner and director of Dr. Rong's Clinic in Cambridge, England, gave an in-depth analysis of the efficacy of Ganoderma lucidum, how to take it, and key points for purchasing. She also provided us with practical health advice and identified risk groups that should avoid eating it. Lingzhi's Many Health Benefits Ganoderma lucidum provides nourishment to all organs, Shu said. The ancient TCM text on agricultural and medicinal plants, 'Shennong's Herbal Classics,' lists Ganoderma lucidum as a 'superb product,' which means it can be taken for a long time without side effects, and its continued use will produce better and better results. The book records the beneficial effects of two types of Ganoderma lucidum—purple and red.

Cambodian court finds opposition MP guilty of incitement, bars him from political office
ADVERTISEMENT A court in Cambodia has convicted a prominent opposition politician of incitement and sentenced him to four years in prison, in the latest legal move to stifle criticism of the government of Prime Minister Hun Manet. Rong Chhun, a top advisor to the newly-formed Nation Power Party, was found guilty of inciting social unrest related to his political activity for meeting with villagers displaced by government construction projects, including the new Phnom Penh International Airport. In addition to the prison term, he was barred from running for office and from voting. The 56-year-old denied the incitement charge, saying all he did was post photos of himself with the villagers and comments on Facebook. "This is not a law enforcement issue," Rong told reporters after the verdict. "It's about politics." The US Embassy, which has been critical of Cambodia's human rights record, had an observer at the hearing but did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Incitement allegations are frequently used by authorities in Cambodia against opponents. Rong was already sentenced to two years for incitement in 2021, on accusations he spread false information about Cambodia's border with Vietnam after meeting with farmers in the area. He was released later the same year by an appeals court. Related UNESCO criticised as Cambodia evicts thousands from popular tourist site The EU has to be aware the threat to Cambodia's democracy has reached its pinnacle Cambodia's government has long been accused of using the judicial system to persecute critics and political opponents. It insists it promotes the rule of law under an electoral democracy, but political parties seen as mounting strong challenges to the ruling Cambodian People's Party have been dissolved by the courts or had their leaders jailed or harassed. Under almost four decades of autocratic former Prime Minister Hun Sen, Cambodia was widely criticised for human rights abuses that included suppression of freedom of speech and association. He was succeeded in August 2023 by his American-educated son, Hun Manet, but there have been few signs of political liberalisation. Late last year, the president of the Nation Power Party, Sun Chanthy, was himself convicted of inciting social disorder and sentenced to two years. Sun then joined the Candlelight Party, the successor to the Cambodia National Rescue Party, but it in turn was barred from competing in the 2023 general elections on a technicality. He then helped form the Nation Power Party at the end of 2023, along with Rong Chhun and others. After his conviction on Monday, Rong said he was not surprised by the verdict and vowed to continue "actively to protect the constitution." New York hospital partners with Israeli hospital to deliver 'cutting edge' care to IDF soldiers
New York University (NYU) Langone is teaming up with an Israeli hospital to give fresh hope to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers who lost limbs in the brutal war against Hamas. Israeli charity Belev Echad has facilitated international collaboration between Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center - Ichilov and NYU's Center for Amputation Reconstruction (CAR) to deliver state-of-the-art osseointegration techniques pioneered in the US to Israeli soldiers and train Israeli doctors to perform the surgeries in their own country. Osseointegration is a process that allows for a prosthesis to be attached directly to a patient's bone, eliminating pressure on their soft tissue. NYU CAR is a multidisciplinary center established in 2019 that focuses on patients who are suffering from "complex limb injuries" or who suffer from severe congenital defects, according to center head Dr. Omri Ayalon. Israel's Amputee Soccer Team Offers Healing To Soldiers Who Lost Limbs In Gaza "I feel very grateful that I am able to provide a service that is helping. We have the luxury here of not being in wartime and able to focus on these more reconstructive procedures that help these soldiers get back to a more normal way of life," Dr. Ayalon told Fox News Digital. Hamas' horrific Oct. 7 terrorist attacks and the subsequent war in Gaza have tragically increased the need for prosthetics in Israel, but osseointegration is not yet widespread in the country. Read On The Fox News App The interdisciplinary nature of the NYU CAR center allows patients to get all the necessary services for a successful prosthetic implant, including surgery, physical therapy and emotional counseling, in one place. The techniques available at NYU CAR, which prior to Oct. 7 had experience treating wounded Ukrainian soldiers, can help alleviate phantom limb sensation and other pain associated with amputation and prosthesis, and osseointegration allows patients to be fitted with prosthetics when they otherwise wouldn't be able to. The unit's dog, Cheetah, who alerted the soldiers to the booby traps with just seconds to spare, was killed in the collapse, but all the soldiers escaped with their lives. Rong credits Cheetah for saving them. "She saved my life that day, she saved the lives of eight soldiers," he told Fox News Digital. Rong suffered nerve damage in his leg and ankle that made it difficult for him to walk. Belev Echad secured his treatment at NYU CAR. He says his "biggest wish" is to see all the hostages back home, and he looks forward to living a "normal life" once his surgeries are over, and hopes to play soccer with his friends again. Dr. Yaron Mor of Ichilov Hospital, one of Israel's largest, believes that the partnership with NYU CAR presents a unique opportunity for both countries to grow from each other's knowledge. Dr. Mor told Fox News Digital that treating wounded veterans is especially meaningful for him. Dr. Mor served in a previous Gaza war, operation Cast Lead, and had to identify the body of a slain friend. "It's a privilege to treat them.
