Trump Blames ‘Mental Anguish and Confusion' for Rejecting $15M CBS Offer
President Donald Trump's lawyers gave a very Trump-like excuse for refusing to accept $15 million to settle his $20 billion lawsuit against CBS. The MAGA president's lawyers claimed that the 'mental anguish and confusion' he suffered from a 'deceptively edited' 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris was just too much to bear in a Wednesday filing, The Wrap reported. The interview was conducted in Oct. 2024, leading up to the 2024 presidential election in November. 'Defendants' conduct, including news distortion, constituted commercial speech which cannot by any reasonable interpretation be found to have constituted editorial judgment, and that speech damaged Plaintiffs,' Trump's lawyers argued. Instead, Trump's lawyers want CBS' parent company Paramount Global to cough up more than $25 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. 'The fact that such commercial speech was issued by a news organization does not insulate Defendants from liability under the First Amendment,' the lawyers wrote. Trump is a co-plaintiff in the lawsuit with Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson, his one-time White House physician, who claims he was also 'injured' by CBS' conduct because he 'is a consumer of broadcast and digital news media content.' Paramount ripped the lawsuit as an 'an affront to the First Amendment' that is 'without basis in law or fact' in a March motion to dismiss. But the company now appears to be looking to put the conflict behind it as it attempts to push through an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media that must go through federal review under the FCC. CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon announced that she was leaving her post earlier this month after reportedly refusing to offer an apology to Trump as part of a settlement, WSJ reported. Paramount execs are also fretting over how such a potential settlement can expose them to future shareholder litigation and criminal charges for bribing a public official, a sources told the WSJ. Meanwhile other media companies and law firms have capitulated to Trump's demands in a bid to avoid being targeted by Trump's DOJ led by MAGA loyalist Pam Bondi. Meta agreed to pay $25 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit from Trump in January after the social media platform suspended his accounts following the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots. X paid $10 million to settle a similar suit the following month. Disney has also shilled out $15 million to Trump's presidential foundation and paid $1 million in legal fees to protect anchor George Stephanopoulos from further legal action from the president.

Biden's doctor lied about cancer or is incompetent, says Obama medic
A former presidential doctor has accused Joe Biden's White House physician of lying or being incompetent after the 82 year-old was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer last week. Ronny Jackson, who treated Barack Obama and also Donald Trump during his first term, is now a hardline Republican congressman. He echoed questions among allies of Mr Trump about whether those in Mr Biden's circle knew more than they were letting on about his health. 'I think there's a probability here that they knew he [Biden] had prostate cancer some time ago and just didn't tell the American people,' he told the Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news site. He singled out Mr Biden 's doctor of more than 15 years for either missing the diagnosis or hiding it. ' Dr Kevin O'Connor either lied to the American people or he's incompetent,' Dr Jackson said, adding that he had tested both Mr Obama and Mr Trump. He also said he feared Mr Biden had between 12 and 18 months to live following the diagnosis, but added that it was not his area of medical expertise. Dr O'Connor has become the focus of anger in Maga circles following the announcement by Mr Biden's office on Sunday that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of stage-four cancer. In a statement, a Biden spokesman said the cancer had been detected after the former president saw a doctor for urinary symptoms. The timing could not have been worse, just ahead of publication of Original Sin, a book by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, which claims to lay out who knew what about Mr Biden's growing frailty in office, and his decision to ultimately drop out of the election race last year. Following the announcement about Mr Biden's diagnosis, conspiracy theories have emerged questioning whether the president, who can call on the very best medical expertise, and his family already knew he had cancer long before the public statement. Mr Trump appeared to suggest a cover-up, saying when asked about the diagnosis on Monday: 'I think it is very sad, actually. I am surprised that the public wasn't notified a long time ago.' Prostate guidelines Mr Biden's aides have tried to clear up any suggestion that they had prior knowledge of the diagnosis, or withheld information. Several doctors pointed out that health guidelines recommend against testing for prostate cancer in men over 70. An aide of Mr Biden's also said the former president's last medical check for prostate cancer had been in 2014. Dr Jackson frequently questioned Mr Biden's fitness for office during his four years at the White House. He called repeatedly for the then president to take a cognitive screening test and make the results public, and accused Dr O'Connor of being less than transparent about his health. However, his standing was undermined when his Navy rank was reduced from admiral to captain after a Pentagon inspector general found he had berated subordinates in the White House medical unit, took the sleep drug Ambien while on duty and drank alcohol inappropriately with subordinates. After the final routine medical examination of Mr Biden's presidency, Dr O'Connor declared him to be a 'healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male'. Dr O'Connor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Texas Rep. Responds To Biden Cancer Diagnosis With A Conspiracy Theory
What good is someone else's cancer diagnosis if you can't spin it into a self-serving conspiratorial yarn? After former President Joe Biden disclosed Sunday he's been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) decided to accuse the Biden administration of a 'political cover up.' 'Care at the White House should be second to none,' Jackson wrote on social media. 'Unbelievable this was missed, but the truth is, his physician was more concerned about assisting with the political cover up than providing world class medical care.' The accusation echoes similar refrains from other Republicans, who are eager to distract from President Donald Trump's countless recent missteps, like accepting a $400 million 'gift' from Qatar, trying to strong-arm Walmart into price controls because of his tariffs, obsessing over Bruce Springsteen's skin, and publishing deeply insecure missives about Taylor Swift. Biden, 82, was reportedly diagnosed on Friday, but to hear some Republicans talk about it, you'd think he'd been keeping his cancer quiet for years. 'What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???' the president's son Donald Trump Jr. wrote on X, taking a swipe at the former first lady's doctoral degree in education. (There is also no such thing as 'stage five' cancer.) Trump Jr. doubled down in a separate post. 'Everyone was in on the cover-up!' he wrote. 'Who was running the country? We need accountability!' Vice President JD Vance also did his part to help puff up the scandal, responding to a question about Biden's diagnosis with a series of his own rhetorical questions: 'In some ways, I blame [Biden] less than I blame the people around him,' Vance said with a nod to the conspiracy theory that Biden's ill health was covered up throughout his presidency. 'Why didn't the American people have a better sense of his health picture? Why didn't the American people have more accurate information about what he was actually dealing with? This is serious stuff.' Doctors Weigh In On How Long Biden Could Live With Advanced Cancer 'Truly Despicable': Donald Trump Jr. Ripped Over 'Disgusting' Post About Biden's Cancer Video Shows Rep. Don Jr leads MAGA world in spreading conspiracy theories about ‘coverup' of Biden's cancer diagnosis
Donald Trump Jr. has taken aim at Joe Biden 's wife for failing to miss the signs of her husband's prostate cancer. The US president's son shared a conspiratorial message claiming that the White House must have known about Biden's diagnosis while he was in office. 'What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???' Trump Jr. said in a sarcastic jab at former First Lady Jill Biden. There is no such thing as stage five cancer. The post appears to be a sarcastic swipe at Ms Biden, who has a doctoral degree in education. Hours earlier, Trump Jr. shared a screenshot calling for respect for the Biden family after the diagnosis. He added, " 100 percent agree.' Trump Jr. wasn't alone in spreading theories without proof. Dr. Ronny Jackson, a Republican congressman and Donald Trump's former physician, tweeted his belief that Biden's doctor during his tenure in the White House was 'more concerned about assisting with the political cover up than providing world class medical care.' Meanwhie, right-wing influencers the Hodgetwins, tweeted: 'Less than a year ago Biden's doctors stated Biden was healthy. Currently Biden has prostate cancer with metastasis to the bone. With the best doctors money can buy there's no way they didn't know. The Democrats and the media all lied and coverup it up!' In a statement released by the former president's office on Sunday, it was announced that Biden was diagnosed a week prior after experiencing 'increasing urinary symptoms'. 'Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,' the statement read. 'On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. 'While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management. The president and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.' Trump, who has often ridiculed Biden following rumours of his ill-health while in office, wrote that he was 'saddened' to hear about the diagnosis. He wrote: 'Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. 'We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.'
