Buccaneers Star Speaks Out With Strong Shilo Sanders Take

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a contender in the NFC over the last couple of years. Led by Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers will again be a team to watch in the upcoming 2025 NFL season.

Photo bySanders put together a solid college football career. He was overshadowed by his brother, Shedeur Sanders, and Travis Hunter, but was an important piece for the Buffaloes.

During the 2024 college football season, Sanders recorded 67 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and two defended passes. Back in 2023, he totaled 67 tackles, four forced fumbles, an interception, a defensive touchdown, and three defended passes.
Ahead of training camp and preseason action, Sanders has now received praise from the Buccaneers' star safety Antoine Winfield Jr.
"He plays hard, he works hard," Winfield Jr. said. "He really wants to learn and improve his game, so that's something that you really admire from someone coming in who wants to learn and actually play this game."
Just like Sanders, Winfield Jr. had a dad playing in the NFL. He knows Sanders was raised with a similar work ethic and drive for success.
"I'm sure he understands. I'm sure he grew up with it, same as myself," Winfield Jr. said. "He's a great kid — he works tremendously hard and I can't say enough about him."

At 25 years old heading into his first NFL season, Winfield has a lot of experience under his belt. He's looking to forge his own path and create a name for himself.
So far, he has been able to do that in Tampa Bay with his work ethic and demeanor. It will be interesting to see if he can make the roster and stick with the Buccaneers to begin his career.
If Winfield's remarks about Sanders are any hint, things are going well for the young defensive back so far. Next up, he'll need to prove himself consistent in training camp and preseason play to earn a roster spot.
