Former Bear comes up big in Atlanta
Hello everyone, I'm Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk.
A former Missouri State Bear comes up big in Atlanta.
In our Bear Nation update.
The Atlanta Braves beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-4 in 11 innings Thursday night.
And the big hero was Drake Baldwin.
The Missouri State Bear product continues to have an impressive rookie year.
It was a 5-5 game in the 11th inning when Baldwin smoked this single to left, it scores Ozzie Albies from third, and the Braves won.
It was Baldwin's first career walk off hit.
After the game Baldwin said it was awesome and dream come true.
Baldwin made the Braves out of spring training and is hitting .279 with three homers and eight RBI.
His former team the Missouri State Bears will open a Valley weekend series Friday night against Indiana Stateat Hammons Field.
