What next for Vardy?
Monday Night Club pundit Rory Smith believes a move to newly-promoted Leeds United would make sense for Jamie who will leave Leicester City at the end of the season, told Sky Sports he has no intention of retiring and believes he can continue to deliver in the Premier on who Vardy might be suitable for on BBC Radio 5 Live, Smith said: "I think he actually makes a lot of sense for Leeds if he can overcome his inherent Sheffield Wednesday fan status."The experience, there aren't that many proven goal scorers available. Leeds have plenty of goals in the team but they don't have a focal point."There's questions about whether Joel Piroe can make the step up. I think there's a logic to Leeds."Watch the full episode on BBC iPlayer

'This is not a sport that is defined by owners'
On the latest episode of BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club, the panel discuss football club ownership. It was a part of a discussion stemming from Evangelos Marinakis entering the pitch after Nottingham Forest's draw against Leicester on Sunday. The Observer's Rory Smith said: "I think it's really unhealthy for football if owners turn themselves into the central characters. "Clubs are social institutions and they belong ultimately and spiritually to the fans, and the players, managers and owners are passing through. "This is not a sport that is defined by owners. They should not be the central characters and we should not be building them up to be the central characters." Watch the full episode on BBC iPlayer or listen on BBC Sounds

Liverpool: Could Is hate towards Alexander-Arnold online only?
New York Times chief football correspondent Rory Smith says Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure from Liverpool is "a double blow" for fans because not only is he leaving his boyhood club but he is leaving for free. Smith formed part of the debate on Monday Night Club about the online criticism of Alexander-Arnold's exit and whether it extends into the stands at Anfield. Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton added: "Could it be a dangerous thing in the long run with young Liverpool-born players, who have that attachment to the club, feel the club progressed them and go on to a good level, then feel 'I better leave early? They might be thinking 'I don't wan to go through the same thing'. "It's quite a strange thing to think in that particular way. I was racking my brain to think where is this situation with Trent come from?" Listen to the full discussion on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club
