There are numerous thrifty and clever cleaning hacks out there that claim to restore household items and jewellery to their former glory. Another crowd-pleaser has emerged which claims to tackle stubborn stains on your old baking trays without the need for extensive elbow grease.

This cleaning tip requires barely any effort and all you need is a single 2p coin. The trick initially made waves in January 2020 when Louise Wright posted before and after snaps on the Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook group, urging members not to chuck away their grimy baking trays.

Louise warned: "Don't bin baking trays. I spend a fortune on baking trays because I buy the cheaper range and they don't last long being marked by tough cooking stains."
Indeed, many feel compelled to discard their cookware due to persistent marks, reports the Mirror.
"But I tried the 2p trick going about and it worked," Louise revealed. Then she broke down the startlingly straightforward method: "Rub the baking tray with the 2p [coin] and then wash as you would with daily dishes.

"It works, takes away the burnt marks left from baking/cooking. No more binning and replacing."
Louise's post quickly gained a torrent of likes and grateful comments, with followers lauding her for sharing such a practical tip – and for saving them dosh on kitchen gear.
One commenter enthused about the hack: "Fabulous, thank you."
A different one expressed regret, "OMG the money I've wasted throwing them away."

The cleaning process was even branded as a "game-changer" by an individual blown away by the budget-conscious and effortless approach.
