Alia Bhatt, who recently made her red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival, grabbed headlines not just for her fashion but for her admiration for Malayalam cinema. During an interview, the 'Jigra' actor said that she admires Fahadh Faasil and praised his recent performance in the 2024 blockbuster film 'Aavesham'.In a conversation with Brut India, Alia said, 'Fahadh Faasil is someone I really admire; his work [ as well]. He is such a fantastic actor. I think Aavesham was one of my favourite films and he was just unreal. I would love to collaborate with him someday.' She also recalled her experience collaborating with Roshan Matthew in 'Darlings'.advertisementAlia, while praising Roshan, said, 'I had the good fortune of working with Roshan Matthew on 'Darlings', who is such a wonderful actor and has done a lot of Malayalam content. He is now also making waves in Hindi.' Alia Bhatt collaborated with Roshan Matthew in 2022's acclaimed film 'Darlings', which also starred Vijay Varma and Shefali Shah. 'The one thing that pandemic taught me is that we're actually one unit, and with now content sitting in one platform - the global platform that everyone gets to view - is a huge exposure. You can watch any kind of content,' she further reflected on how global streaming platforms allow for broader cultural understanding. 'Day before yesterday, I saw an animated film that won the Oscars, which is a Philippine animated production, and I was like wow, I get to see someone else's perspective because of the platform that's available to us,' she Bhatt attended the closing ceremony at the Cannes Film Festival in a Gucci ensemble with a saree-inspired drape. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the look is Gucci's first-ever interpretation of the Indian saree. Trending Reel
