He joined us in February in the winter transfer market and quickly left his mark. From his assist during AC Milan v Roma in the Coppa Italia to his goal in Serie A during Empoli v AC Milan. Today, on 18 April 2025, Santiago Gimenez turns 24 years old! It is his first birthday as a Rossonero, one which he arrives as he recovers from a knock to the hip. Until now, he has 13 appearances, three goals and two assists. He is a young player and still getting used to everything, but he is well and truly one of the team. L'Equipe: De Zerbi 'unites squad against him' at Marseille amid Milan links AC Milan have been linked to Roberto De Zerbi in recent months, and it seems that the Italian's current situation may be deteriorating. Even last summer, when Stefano Pioli was heading towards an exit, De Zerbi was mentioned. But in truth, the links extend far past that. The Italian's name has been constantly linked to the Milan job since his Brighton team started to take off. As L'Equipe (via Gazzetta dello Sport) write this morning, his situation in France is seemingly deteriorating quickly with the coach refusing to work with the players at the start of the week, after a poor defeat at the weekend. In fact, the sporting director was forced to step in and mediate, with the players 'furious' at their coach. This is not a new thing, though. Throughout the season, the report writes that the coach has been regularly hard on his team, leaving them 'unstable' mentally and tactically. Now, though, they are united, which is something he wished for; the only issue is that they are united against him, which could change his own future.

AC Milan are very much aware that Alex Jimenez could already move back to Real Madrid, but a new hope has emerged this afternoon. The Spaniard has progressed massively in the past 18 months, and Milan see the defender as a key part of their future. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been very vocal in his backing of the talent, and with his versatility, he has the range to be a stalwart for years to come. However, this has a negative side – Real are continuing to keep an eye on the defender because of his sharp rise. In fact, Marca (via Milan News) report that the Spaniard 'convinced' the club during his first year and this year he is continuing to do the same, even if his minutes are slightly more limited than they were last season. Nevertheless, the Spanish club are continuing to observe his progress and are paying 'close attention'. Milan have been offered a lifeline in the situation, though. According to the report, Los Blancos' interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold will play a large part in their plan for Jimenez – if they land the Englishman, there is a chance that their interest in the Rossonero will cease. That being said, Jimenez's versatility might be too great of a deal to turn down, so it would not guarantee that Real would look away.
