Homes evacuated after blaze at joinery business in Rothley
A number of homes have been evacuated after fire crews tackled a blaze in Rothley in and Rescue Service said seven fire engines were deployed to reports of a fire at The Loughborough Joinery Company on the corner of Woodgate and Wellsic Lane at 11:09 BST on fire has been contained, but neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precaution, the fire service Lane has been closed in both directions while the firefighters remain at the scene. A fire service spokesperson said: "This is an ongoing incident, with crews from Birstall, Hinckley, Western, Eastern, Central and Lutterworth fire stations at the scene, and we would encourage people to avoid the area and find alternative routes of transport."

February 16, 2024 Brueckner goes on trial accused of none-McCann allegations of rape and sex assault, in Braunschweig, Germany. Prosecutors hope for a conviction to keep him behind bars permanently and lead to McCann charges. October 8, 2024 Brueckner was acquitted of all claims. Prosecutors launch an appeal, however. Decision pending. September 17, 2025 Date on which Christian Brueckner will be released from custody without action being taken.
