CARTA honors transit driver for over 50 years of dedicated service
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Area Regional Authority is celebrating Transit Driver Appreciation Day on Tuesday, March 18th. 'This special day is an opportunity to express gratitude to the hardworking drivers who navigate, rain or shine, to ensure their passengers get where they need to go,' said CARTA officials. 'Transit drivers throughout the Tri-County area play a vital role in the mobility of our communities.' CARTA is highlighting one of its employees who has been driving for CARTA for over 50 years! Meet Charles Frasier, a Charleston native who started driving for CARTA in 1974 when he was 25 years old. CARTA says Mr. Frasier is passionate about what he does, he regularly arrives at work at 3 a.m. to prepare for his 6 a.m. route. He is known throughout the community as the 'King of Route 20.' Mr. Frasier says he loves what he does and has no plans to leave anytime soon. One of his favorite mottos is 'I refuse a bad day; I choose to have a good day.' The City of Charleston declared April 8th as 'Charles Frasier Day' when he hit his 50th milestone. Bus stops along Kalia Road to be temporarily relocated
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The City and County of Honolulu's Department of Transportation Services announced the temporary relocation of bus stops along Kalia Road due to a Kalia Road Repair Project done by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Kalia Road Repair Project will begin on March 18 and last until Nov. 7.
