Scots dog walker jumped by trio of thugs in brutal late night attack
The man was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and the extent of his injuries is unknown. A Scots dog walker has been jumped by a trio of thugs in a brutal late night attack. The terrifying incident took place at around 9pm on May 15 when a 51-year-old man was approached by three men who assaulted him on Ferguslie Park Gardens, Paisley. The man was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and the extent of his injuries is unknown. Detective Constable James Campbell said: 'This was a frightening ordeal for the man who was assaulted and our enquiries are ongoing. "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not already spoken to officers to contact us. I would also appeal to anyone with any private CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact us.' Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3862 of 15 May, 2025. Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Royal Alex hospital on lockdown, patients urged to go elsewhere
The Royal Alexandra Hospital is asking patients in need of emergency care to go to another hospital. At about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Alberta Health Services said the hospital was under lockdown 'as a precaution to ensure the safety of patients, staff and physicians.' No information has been released on when the lockdown began or why. Anyone seeking emergency care is being asked to go to another hospital, if possible. Information on emergency room department wait times can be found on the Alberta Health Services website.
