Royal Jaipur Under-1800 Classical FIDE Rating Chess: Shivaay Singh shares lead with Prathamesh, Arnav, Sushant

Jaipur: An eight-year-old Shivaay Singh from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, outwitted Rajasthan's Ashi Upadhyay to take the joint lead on the second day of the Royal Jaipur Under-1800 Classical FIDE Rating Chess tournament being held here on Saturday.
After the end of the fifth round, Shivaay is sharing the lead with Prathamesh Dharmadhikari of Maharashtra, Arnav Goyal of Haryana and Sushant Singh of Delhi. All four players have five points each.
Arpit Saxena from Rajasthan, Aarav Porwal from Madhya Pradesh, Aritrya Pal from Bengal, Rohit Rajkumar from Gujarat, Agam Surana and Kavyansh Jain from Rajasthan, Aarav Agarwal and Garvit Jain of Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Saboo of Gujarat and Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay of Madhya Pradesh are tied for second place with 4.5 points each.
In the fifth-round matches, Prathamesh Dharmadhikari defeated Dhruv Gupta of Delhi, Arnab Goyal trounced Aarav Gupta of UP, while Sushant Tiwari got the better of Mahendra Singh of Rajasthan.
Arpit Saxena of Rajasthan held Garvit Jain of UP, while Agam Surana of Rajasthan and UP's Garvit Jain played out a draw.
Kavyansh Jain of Rajasthan dismissed Phalansh of Haryana, Aritrya Pal of Bengal beat Aarav Maheshwari of MP, Brajesh Upadhyay outclassed Mukesh Mandloi of Rajasthan, while Aarav Porwal got the better of Rahul Suri of Delhi.
Rajasthan's Mahendra Singh, Ojas Maheshwari, Vibhor Chopra, Veer Kumar, Ashi Upadhyay, Yajat Vyas, Vibhor Atal, Hitarth Sharma, Pawan Sain, Amit Bhargav and Shaurya Bhargav have 4 points each after five rounds.
