TUI's best luxury swim-up rooms with cheapest one £100 a night
German holiday firm TUI has more than 400 hotels across 35 countries, and many of them have swim-up pools, including the Royalton Blue Waters, the TUI BLUE Adriatic Beach and the 5T Kandima Maldives There is hardly any point in returning to dry land again thanks to the rise of the swim-up pool. A few years ago the idea of swimming pool leading up to your front door was the reserve of the most exclusive resorts. Now, more and more family friendly hotels have plenty of rooms with their own exclusive access to a cerulean dipping spot. German holiday firm TUI has more than 400 hotels across 35 countries, and many of them have swim-up pools. Here are just five of the resorts with the feature. 1. Royalton Blue Waters – Jamaica The Royalton Blue Waters has swim-up suites that come complete with direct access to a pool, a pair of in-water loungers and a furnished terrace. Plus, membership to the hotel's Diamond Club is included, with exclusive perks like access to a private club lounge, premium drinks and snacks, and a separate beach area and bar. What's more, the lagoon-like main pool, which has snagged a beachside spot, features a swim-up bar. As its name suggests, the Royalton Blue Waters sits on the shore, complete with its own private beach, in the sleepy region of Trelawny, in northern Jamaica. It's got a stylish look and its activities programme covers everything from cooking classes to reggae sessions. When it comes to food, this place goes all out with its selection of five restaurants. Along with an international selection of dishes, healthy eaters and a bunch of different dietary requirements are covered with specialised spreads in the buffet restaurant. JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort – Thailand This hotel's seriously stylish swim-up rooms back onto the main pool at the resort – which just happens to be South-east Asia's longest – and come with a terrace, sunbeds and a parasol. You wouldn't even need to leave the room for the entire holiday. However, for guests who manage to tear themselves away, there are four restaurants to choose from, loads of activities like mountain biking and cooking classes to get stuck into, and the hotel is conveniently located right next to the beach. There's also a luxury spa, with treatments like body scrubs and therapy baths, and a kids' club to keep little ones entertained. TUI BLUE Adriatic Beach – Croatia The TUI BLUE Adriatic Beach is reserved just for adults, so whether on a romantic retreat or relaxing, this peaceful place is a haven of tranquillity. The scenery will have anyone reaching for their camera, too – the hotel sits at the base of one of Croatia's signature pine-cloaked mountains. When it comes to swim-ups, there are a few options at this place. From a swim-up double with a sea-view terrace and – of course – steps into the water, to a swim-up junior suite with a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival to sip on the pool-edged terrace. The infinity-edged main pool faces on to the ocean, so expect views that seem almost endless. Want something to sip while taking it all in? One can choose between a duo of bars – one of them specialises in mojitos. Guests can upgrade their junior suite to a swim-up suite, so stepping straight from the terrace into the long lazy river and switching between Jacuzzi and pool takes but a step. Picking a premium swim-up suite means getting little extras like an aromatherapy menu and access to a private area with concierge service and poolside butler service. Need to refuel after all that swimming, sunbathing and being waited on? The bar and restaurant scene at this hotel are delectable with dishes prepared by international chefs. Travellers looking to have the sea on their doosrstep can choose an above-water villa for direct access to the lagoon this hotel calls home. The water theme continues into the rest of the hotel – the main pool's one of the longest in the Maldives. It's buddied up with a swim-up bar and a DJ deck, which makes it the ideal spot for weekly pool parties. Little ones get their own splash park, too. TUI BLUE Riu Tikida Garden - Morocco In one of the greenest areas in Marrakech, the swim-up rooms in this dreamy resort can be accessed via a terrace, decked with two sun-loungers as well a table and chairs. With Moroccan-style architecture and warm earthy colours, these suites will feel like a desert oasis. The adults-only resort also boasts four main pools, as well as an indoor pool perfect for a splash after a relaxing afternoon in the Tikida Spa, featuring a sauna, hammam, massages and beauty treatments. Located amongst one of Marrakesh's Palmeries, guests can divide their time between relaxing in the shade and taking in the golden rays. The resort also features three restaurants, including the Culinarium, their signature à la carte restaurant hosting themed evenings that revolve around the likes of seafood, sunsets and local specialities.
