JoJo Siwa shares update on her sexuality in candid 'Big Brother' moment
JoJo Siwa shares update on her sexuality in candid 'Big Brother' moment Show Caption Hide Caption JoJo Siwa felt 'pressure' to outdo her KISS iHeartRadio Awards look JoJo Siwa teased the announcement of a "massive project" that's coming soon while wearing a massive rhinestone headpiece. Entertain This! JoJo Siwa is opening up about her evolving sexuality. In a moment captured on the April 22 livestream of "Celebrity Big Brother UK," Siwa told co-star Danny Beard that she felt like "queer" was a more apt identifier for her than "lesbian." "I feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean?" Siwa, 21, told Bear, who landed in the house after a stint on "RuPaul's Drag Race UK." "I think that's the thing, I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized: 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer.' And I think that's really cool," Siwa continued. Mickey Rourke apologizes to JoJo Siwa for homophobic slur on 'Celebrity Big Brother' A children's entertainer turned pop star, Siwa first came out in 2021 and is currently dating Australian influencer Kath Ebbs. Her candidness about coming out, and evolving as an entertainer in the public eye, has endeared her to a new set of fans − less interested in the brightly colored outfits and dance moves that made her a favorite among children and more fascinated by a newfound unfiltered nature. JoJo Siwa faces rejection from LGBTQ+ community. Why? That quality is on full display during Siwa's stint at the "Big Brother" house, where she's formed an unlikely friendship with ex-"Love Island" star Chris Hughes. "I'm switching letters!" Siwa continued, in her comments to Bear, joking that she's moved from the L to the Q in LGBTQ. "That's what I love about sexuality," she said. "You are Q, honey. And you know that British people love a queue!" Beard quipped. Earlier in the season, Siwa also mused about gender, saying: "Met a lot of males — love them, definitely not them. Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like. "I don't know, it's not something I want to say about myself yet, but it's something that is confusing," she added. JoJo Siwa gets candid following Mickey Rourke's 'Big Brother' exit Siwa's revelation follows an exit from fellow castmate Mickey Rourke, who made inappropriate comments regarding her sexuality and used a slur. "If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore," Rourke, 72, said during an episode that aired earlier this month. "I can guarantee I'll still be gay and I'll still be in a very happy relationship," Siwa shot back. The 72-year-old actor and former pro-boxer has since initiated legal action against the show, according to People and Buzzfeed, disputing his pay and alleging the series was "publicly embarrassing him."

JoJo Siwa Declares She Is No Longer 'A Lesbian' Amid Flirty Relationship With Male 'CBB' Housemate
JoJo Siwa has clarified her sexuality on "Celebrity Big Brother." She had previously expressed a preference for women before going on the show, but now claims she no longer identifies as a lesbian. The singer's comments come amid ongoing buzz over her flirty dynamic with fellow housemate Chris Hughes. The duo has been spotted cuddling in bed occasionally and showing noticeably affectionate behavior. Because of JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes' flirty interactions, her partner, Kath Ebbs, has become the target of online trolling. Tuesday night's "Celebrity Big Brother" livestream delivered more than just a triple eviction; it also featured a jaw-dropping moment where JoJo Siwa walked back her previous claim about being a lesbian. Siwa made the revelation during a private conversation with "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" star, Danny Beard, who identifies as non-binary and uses the pronouns they/them. She also claimed that she came to the realization while on the show. "I feel so queer," Siwa admitted to Beard, per the Daily Mail. "I've never - I think I've always told myself, I'm a lesbian. I think you - I think being here - I've realized I am not a lesbian, I'm queer." After making the confession, Siwa said she felt genuinely happy with her new sense of clarity and even cracked a light-hearted joke about rotating through the LGBTQ alphabet. Siwa added, "And I think that's really cool, I'm switching letters! I've dropped the L and I've gone to the Q baby! That's what I love about sexuality." Siwa has also made headlines for her close bond with "Love Island" star Chris Hughes during their time on "Celebrity Big Brother." The pair has shared several intimate moments on the show, including cuddling in bed and enjoying a steamy dip together. Hughes has also been spotted kissing Siwa on the forehead and even referring to her as his "girlfriend." At one point, Hughes hinted that he might even have feelings for her, saying he "probably would" kiss her. He later brushed it off as a compliment. Their chemistry has led viewers and fellow housemates to speculate that a romantic connection might be developing between them. "Chris has a crush right, something is unfolding, I don't know what it is but they are close," houseguest Ashley Roberts once commented, per the Daily Mail. During a confessional, Hughes admitted he would be deeply hurt if Siwa were evicted from the show. He described their bond as being "like two peas in a pod" and confessed that he'd "feel lost" without her presence in the house. "If she left the house ever and I'd be stuck in here that would genuinely be crushed," Hughes said, per the Daily Mail. "I guess she's like my person in here. When you walk into a party you don't know anyone, there's someone you want to see in the room that makes you want to feel at ease." He added, "It makes me feel happy it makes me feel comfortable and it allows me to be me, it really brings out me, I like me, I like being me and I'll always be me and it takes someone to get you. We're like two peas in a pod." Unsurprisingly, as Siwa's bond with Hughes continues to grow, her partner Kath Ebbs has faced a wave of online trolling. "I don't pay much attention to celebrity news but if I was Kath Ebbs right now I think I would kill myself," a user commented on X. "Life could be worse, you could be Kath Ebbs," someone else remarked. "Ya getting cheated on. On live tv," a different user trolled the queer influencer on Instagram. Siwa and Ebbs have been in a relationship for months and went Instagram official in January. They made their red carpet debut the following month during the Australian premiere of "Hadestown." The couple also made two other public appearances in March, turning up at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards and the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards together. In 2023, Siwa reminisced about some of her most cherished and difficult memories at Disney World in Florida. In an interview with People magazine, the former "Dance Moms" star revealed that the theme park held many fond memories and has played a pivotal role in her personal life, from experiencing the joys of first love and grappling with heartbreak to discovering her actual sexual orientation. "I have a lot of really fun memories here," she said. "I have a lot of really hard memories here, but I have grown a lot at Disney. I fell in love for the first time at Disney World. I realized I was gay at Disney World. I went through stages of heartbreak at Disney World." Siwa came out in 2021 in a viral TikTok video in which she lip-synced to Lady Gaga's empowering song "Born This Way" while wearing a rainbow bow, a clear symbol of her pride.
