Women's Race of Al Salam Cycling Championship to Take Place on 16 February at Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Women's Race will take place on Sunday, 16 February 2025, marking the fourth stage of the prestigious ninth Al Salam Cycling Championship. The event, organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, is recognized as the world's largest community cycling event in terms of diversity and prize value. The Women's Race, held at the Al Marmoom Nature Reserve, serves as a significant highlight of the championship, promoting women's cycling in the UAE and the broader region. The competition will feature two races: the first, a 107 km race exclusively for Emirati female cyclists, and the second, a 136 km race for top female cyclists from the UAE and other GCC countries. Organized under the leadership of Omar bin Jumaa Al-Falasi, Director-General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, the championship has seen a significant increase in female participation, contributing to the growth and success of women's cycling. Al Tayer Motors is sponsoring the event, with the race route specially designed to meet international standards while ensuring safety protocols in collaboration with government entities. The Al Salam Championship, a platform for empowering women in sports, reflects the UAE's broader commitment to gender equality. The women's race route, set against the stunning Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve, continues to reinforce Dubai's reputation as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts. Desert Race of Al Salam Cycling Championship to Take Place on 9 February at Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Desert Race, the third stage of the ninth Al Salam Cycling Championship, is set to take place on Sunday, 9 February 2025. The event, held at the Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve, promises a challenging racecourse through sand dunes and rocky trails. The championship, organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, is renowned as the world's largest community cycling event, both in diversity and prize value. His Excellency Omair bin Jumaa Al Falasi, Director General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, confirmed that all preparations for the race are complete. Cyclists, both nationals and residents, will compete on two routes: the 52 km Sarouq Al Hadid and the 57 km Al Ashoosh, with a timed sprint segment at Areeqib Brashi. The race emphasizes safety, requiring helmets, protective eyewear, hydration packs, and mountain bikes equipped with front and rear lights. A total of 44 financial prizes will be awarded to top finishers, with specific categories for Emiratis and residents in both the races and the sprint challenge. The Al Salam Championship aims to promote a healthier, active society and showcase Dubai's world-class cycling infrastructure. The championship will culminate with the Women's Race on 16 February 2025, featuring a 107 km race for Emirati cyclists and a 136 km elite race for female athletes.
