Who will win the AL West?

Yahoo Sports national MLB insider Russell Dorsey breaks down the AL West standings and says the division is wide open for any team to come out on top. Can Willy Adames turn around his slow start with the Giants?

Yahoo Sports national MLB insider Russell Dorsey talks about how shortstop Willy Adames has been performing in his first season with the San Francisco Giants. The San Francisco Giants have needed power for some time, and it's a big reason they signed power hitting shortstop Willie Adomas to a 7 year $182 million contract this winter. Now, it's not easy to find power in San Francisco. Since 2000, no ballpark has had fewer home runs in Oracle Park, and the Giants haven't had a 30 home run player since Barry Bonds did in 2004. While Adomas has had 30 homers in two of his last three seasons. It has been a slow start for him in San Francisco so far to start the 2025 season. Now, while the power has been down so far for Adonis, there are signs that a turn could be coming. His slugging percentage is below his career averages, but his expected slugging percentage that accounts for quality of contact, exit velocity, and his park adjusted, shows that he is more around his career averages than you might think. And shows that a big turn could be coming for their shortstop very soon.
