Ukraine attacks Russian targets in far-reaching drone strikes
Ukraine's security services launched a drone attack that reached deep inside Russia, including into Siberia, officials in both countries said Sunday, in one of the most penetrating assaults of Russian airspace by Ukrainian forces since the war began.
According to a Ukrainian intelligence official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the topic, Kyiv conducted a 'special operation' that destroyed 41 'Russian strategic aircraft' stationed at four airfields. The official said drones were concealed inside trucks and beneath the roofs of houses, which were remotely opened, allowing the drones to fly up and attack their targets. The Washington Post could not independently verify the claims.
