South Charlotte restaurant gets boost from PGA Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The PGA Championship is in Quail Hollow this week, kicking off a summer of sporting events in the Queen City. The tournament draws thousands of golf fans and millions of dollars in economic impact to our area. During the tournament, the manager at Rusty's Deli & Grille looks forward to welcoming both old and new customers. It's a nice boost for the business, which has been serving the Charlotte area for more than 40 years. Lacett at the links: A pro analyzes CSL anchor's bad swing at Quail Hollow 'When we have new people, of course, we try to serve everybody with love, passion,' said Filiberto Moran, the manager. 'It gives us an opportunity to meet new people and new people to meet Rusty's, to know Rusty's, and hopefully we can make a good impact with the service and food we have.' The restaurant is located about a mile down the road from Quail Hollow Club, where thousands of visitors are watching the PGA Championship this week. 'The first couple of days, we have very consistent sales,' Moran said. 'Today looks like a little bit better.' From sizzling burgers and fries to classic sandwiches, Moran wants to make sure everything is up to par for the golf patrons, so when the next golf tournament comes to town, people think of Rusty's as a hole in one. 'Hopefully next year they say 'Oh, I remember we had a good experience on Rusty's,'' he said. 'Let's go back to them.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
