2 adults wanted for kidnapping as Fitchburg police continue to search for 5 missing children
Arrest warrants have been issued for two adults as Fitchburg police continue to search for five children who were reported missing earlier this week. Ruth Encarnacion and Isael Rivera are both wanted on five counts of custodial kidnapping of a minor by a relative, according to the Fitchburg Police Department. Police on Thursday announced that they were trying to track down Encarnacion, Rivera, and the kids they live with, including 10-year-old Alexandra Rivera, 9-year-old Alejandro Rivera, 5-year-old Alonzo Rivera, 4-year-old Abigail Rivera, and 9-month-old Adonis Rivera. Law enforcement launched an investigation into the family's whereabouts after receiving a missing person report for Encarnacion on Monday. The Department of Children and Families then reported her five children missing on Wednesday. Police noted that preliminary information indicates the family is traveling in a black 2018 Infiniti QX60 with Massachusetts registration 5GCX18. An Amber Alert hasn't been issued because the designation is 'not intended for missing child incidents involving parental kidnapping or child custody situations that lack specific information about the children in imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death,' according to police. The Fitchburg Police Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Worcester District Attorney's Office are working together on the investigation. Police search for Massachusetts mother accused of kidnapping 5 children
Fitchburg police are looking for a missing mother and her five children. Ruth Encarnacion's family said they are concerned for her since they haven't heard from her in at least a week. Fitchburg police say they're trying to find Ruth, Isael Rivera and the five young children they live with who are a 10-year-old boy, 9-year-old boy, 5-year-old boy, 4-year-old girl and 9-month-old baby boy. Encarnacion and Rivera are wanted on warrants for five counts of Custodial Kidnapping of a Minor by a Relative. DCF reported children missing The family is in the Department of Children and Families' system, who have reported the kids missing. Investigators think they might be traveling in a black 2018 Infinity SUV with the Massachusetts plate 5GCX18. The word is getting around in the community and neighbors are sharing fliers online, hoping for the best. "I don't know what's going on, but all I know is that we just have to get them back," said Luis Melendez of Fitchburg. "If your kids were missing, how do you think you would act? You would act the same way and that's the way I would act if my kids were missing, I would definitely go find them." Police said they looked at the possibility of an AMBER Alert, but AMBER Alerts are not intended for missing child incidents involving parental kidnapping or child custody situations where there is no specific information about the children being in imminent danger. Fitchburg police seek whereabouts of mother and 5 kids
FITCHBURG — Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a mother and her five children. Shortly after noon Thursday, Fitchburg police posted on social media that Ruth Encarnacion and her children were considered to be missing persons. They were believed to be in a black 2018 Infiniti QX60 in the company of a man named Isael Rivera, according to the posting. The children, each with the surname Rivera, are ages 9 months to 10 years.
