"The Richest Man In The World Playing The Victim": People Are NOT Impressed With Elon Musk's Latest Interview Complaining About The Tesla Backlash

This week, Tesla CEO and DOGE leader Elon Musk gave an interview that left people less than impressed. On an episode of Fox News's Hannity, Elon discussed the vandalism and arson that Teslas are experiencing across the country. "It's really come as quite a shock to me that there's this level of hatred and violence from the left," he said. "I always thought the Democrats were supposed to be the party of empathy, the party of caring, and yet they're burning down cars, they're firebombing dealerships, they're firing bullets into dealerships, they're smashing up Teslas. Tesla is a peaceful company. We've never done anything harmful. I've never done anything harmful. I've only done productive things." Elon suggested the reason behind all the Tesla backlash might be "mental illness" or due to "larger forces at work," but he also blamed people who benefit from fraud. "It turns out, when you take away people's fraud, the money they're receiving fraudulently, they get very upset. They basically want to kill me because I'm stopping their fraud, and they want to hurt Tesla because we're stopping this terrible waste and corruption in the government. And well, I guess they're bad people. Bad people do bad things." Well! People across TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) had a lot to say about all this. Editor's Note: While we can't endorse what X has become, we can bring you the worthwhile moments that still exist there, curated and free of the surrounding chaos. Plenty of folks brought up Elon's recent quote about empathy: Others pointed out some of the many, many reasons why people would be upset with Elon: Tell that to the tens of thousands of federal workers, 30% of whom are veterans, that are now out of a job due to no fault of their own — Kaylan_TX (@Kaylan_TX_) March 19, 2025 Fox News / Twitter: @Kaylan_TX_ And many called Elon out for "playing the victim" and being a "crybaby": The richest man in the world playing the victim instead of taking responsibility for his actions. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. — Piyush Mittal 🇺🇸🇺🇦🇬🇪🇨🇦🟧🌊🌈 (@piyushmittal) March 19, 2025 @RyanShead / Via Twitter: @RyanShead
