Fisher and Valentine take over from Caton at Bala Town
Bala Town have appointed Steve Fisher as first-team manager, with Ryan Valentine as head joined the Cymru Premier club as a player in 2005 and was previously assistant to Colin Caton, who recently stepped down after 22 years and 880 games in Wrexham and Wales Under-21 defender Valentine joined Bala as a player in 2013 before joining the coaching said Valentine would "take charge of day-to-day coaching operations" as head coach."This is an exciting time for the club. Steve and Ryan know Bala inside out," Bala chief executive Nigel Aykroyd said."They've led by example for years and earned this opportunity. We're confident their partnership will build on our strong foundations and drive us forward."
Following Caton's departure, Bala revealed they are facing cuts of up to 30% following a "hugely difficult and challenging 12 months" for the secretary Ruth Crump said the club were assessing their expenditure in full amid a major financial struggle at the Gwynedd outfit."We're looking into everything at the club in terms of our spending, facilities, training, we're looking at cuts everywhere," Crump told BBC Radio Cymru's Ar y Marc.
