BMW Motorrad Teases New Sportbike Concept, Set to Be Unveiled on May 23
BMW Motorrad is on a launch spree; the Bavarian giant recently launched multiple new models based on the 1300 cc platform. Now, without a break, the German automaker has teased a new concept model, which is to be revealed on May 23. Released via various social media platforms, the teaser image shows the shadow of a sports bike. While the teaser YouTube adds a clue with the tagline "The Quest for the Speed of Light". The silhouette gives a bit of a hint at the shape of the new machine. With a fully-faired sporty body, the latest machine has an aggressive design. However, unlike other models of the automaker, it has a rather flat tank and a stretched tank toward the seat. This differentiates it from the M 1000 RR and the S 1000 RR. Furthermore, it has a short but aerodynamic tail section. Also Read: Probing the image a bit more, there seems to be some use of carbon fibre on the fenders, the side panels, and the tail. Quite possibly, the manufacturer is working to control the overall weight of the machine. The gold fork tubes contrast sharply with the dark background, and the handlebar grips sit lower compared to the tank, though they are not as pronounced as those on the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR. Following the pattern of modern sports bikes, the brand seems to have incorporated winglets in the design. Still in the concept stage, the production model might spawn a new model deviating from the S 1000 RR and the M 1000 RR. Speculations are, this might be a new iteration of the HP4 models, which were in production between 2014 to 2018. These models were focused on being lightweight, using a lot of carbon fibre.

Previous Next BMW Motorrad Malaysia on Monday unveiled the all-new BMW S 1000 RR and the New BMW F 900 GS Adventure. The company claimed they represent the pinnacle of high-performance sport and versatile adventure motorcycles respectively. "Not too long ago, we introduced the new BMW C 400 X and the new BMW C 400 GT, bringing urban mobility to the forefront in Malaysia. Now, we expand into the world of track performance and off-road, touring and adventure," BMW Group Malaysia managing director Benjamin Nagel said. "With the all-new BMW S 1000 RR, we are catering to riders who demand pure power, precision, and the thrill of the track. "Meanwhile, the New BMW F 900 GS Adventure is designed for those seeking boundless exploration whether off the trail or in long distance tours, by offering advanced technology and versatility," Nagel added. With the two new models, he said BMW Motorrad continues to push the boundaries of performance, precision and innovation. The S 1000 RR builds upon the legacy of its predecessor, now featuring refined riding dynamics, state-of-the-art technology, and a more daring, aggressive design. Engineered for peak performance, the S 1000 RR now features a new M short-stroke throttle that allows it to respond even more directly to every command at the throttle, new winglets provide increased downforce, a new front wheel cover with integrated brake ducts improves brake cooling and new fairing side panels offer a more striking design. At its heart, the S 1000 RR is powered by a 999-cc water/oil- cooled inline four-cylinder, four-stroke engine, producing an output of 154 kW (210 hp) at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. This high-performance engine, combined with the bike's lightweight, aerodynamic design, as well as claw-shifted 6-speed gearbox, propels the S 1000 RR from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds with a top speed of over 300 km/h. The F 900 GS Adventure, meanwhile, is designed for riders who seek the perfect blend of rugged exploration and long-distance touring. At its core, the new 895-cc, two-cylinder, four-stroke inline engine delivers 77 kW (105 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed beyond 200 km/h, providing the perfect balance of power, agility, and reliability for both on- road and off-road adventures. The F 900 GS Adventure now comes standard with a fully adjustable (spring preload, bound and rebound) upside-down fork offering 230 mm of spring travel. This allows for precise tuning without tools, improving handling and stability to suit various riding conditions - whether on or off-road, solo, with a passenger, or carrying extra luggage. The S 1000 RR sells for RM139,5000 and RM159,500 with the M package. The F 900 GS Adventure sells for RM95,500.
