Ford Needs A Do-Over As It Recalls Hundreds Of Mustangs It Already Recalled
It would seem Ford is taking the "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" method for recalls with its latest announcement. Nearly 31,000 2022 and 2023 Mustangs were recalled last year for a steering issue. Sounds pretty normal, right? Well, Ford biffed the repair on some of them, so now more than 300 Mustang owners have to take their car to be repaired once again. The issue Ford first dealt with back in 2024 was that the secondary steering torque sensor wasn't calibrated correctly. That means the steering wheel can turn side to side with little warning, causing a very dangerous loss of control. It's less than ideal, but Ford wasn't aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue, according to Ford Authority. It wasn't a terribly complicated fix either. Dealers just had to update the power steering control module's software. Easy peasy... or so it seemed. 332 S550 Mustang owners got a bit unlucky with the fix, so now they'll have to take their cars back to the dealers to get the fix re-done. From there, Ford logged two warranty claims related to the issue and decided on the recall later in June. The Dearborn-based automaker is giving the impacted owners a bit of a break though. In a statement to The Drive, a representative said that customers can use "use pick-up and delivery and mobile service for this recall," meaning they won't have to go to a dealer themselves to get the problem fixed. Not bad. Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration aren't deeming this a "do not drive" situation, because it doesn't sound like the steering defect is terribly severe, The Drive reports. If anything, this situation is just annoying for impacted Mustang owners and embarrassing for Ford — the most recalled automaker in America. Read the original article on Jalopnik.

Ford Mustang Driver Can't Handle Snow
Read the full story on The Auto Wire We've personally witnessed more than one Ford Mustang driver helplessly trying to coax their pony through snow, and it's usually not pretty. That's what the included video, which was filmed either somewhere in Europe or maybe Russia, is all guy in a black S550 Mustang is driving through the street by what appears to be some apartments. Cars line the sides of the road as the out-of-control Ford smashes into them repeatedly. It's obvious the muscle car is struggling for traction in the white stuff as it sprays wildly from the rear drive tires. But is this because the vehicle has the wrong kind of tires on it, or is the driver behaving like an idiot? The answer could be both. We've seen Mustangs struggling to get up snowy hills, which is a legitimate thing. But the driver was laying on the accelerator as the rear tires just spun uselessly, which is user error. So both can be true. Also a possibility is the guy has had one too many or is otherwise intoxicated. That would explain why he just keeps crashing into cars instead of stopping, getting out, and figuring out the situation. Whatever the reason for the driver's recklessness, the people who live at the apartment complex are understandably upset at the guy. They start chasing the Mustang, throwing snowballs at it. The front end of the Ford is damaged, the bumper cover ripped off. Eventually, the Mustang driver ends up on foot outside of his car, although we don't know why. Maybe it was damaged enough it couldn't drive anymore? The people chase the guy down, tripping him up and mobbing the man. It's like they're ready to get even after the Mustang driver did one of the most Mustang things. This whole situation is just bizarre. Ford Ranger Driver Takes Out A Mustang
Read the full story on The Auto Wire Usually when there's a vehicle crashing into one that's parked, it's the Mustang that's the culprit. But in this home surveillance footage we see the tables get turned as a Ford Ranger crashes into a Mustang in one of the most brutal fashions video opens with the S550 Mustang parked outside a house on what appears to be a rural road. You can hear the Ranger approaching when it collides with something and you see it come into frame, kicking up dust on the far shoulder of the road before it literally goes sideways at a good clip. As it travels across the driveway skirt to the house and then off onto the soft shoulder, which appears to have a skiff of snow, the higher center of gravity works against the Ranger. The truck rolls one time, the Mustang perhaps stopping it from rolling any more. That's right, the Ranger lands on top of the back end of the pony car, arresting its movement in a good way, at least for the driver in the pickup. Speaking of him, he gets out of the cab, avoiding serious injury as the roof has been partly caved in. Instead of standing there and assessing the damage while thanking his lucky stars he's still alive, the guy tries slamming the truck door behind him as if he's annoyed. When the door doesn't just catch since the body is all messed up, he seems a little shocked. Then the guy just walks casually around his wrecked truck that's on top of a Mustang, spraying himself with something (Axe body spray, maybe?) before he just walks casually off like nothing happened. The only people we know who like to spray themselves in a situation like that are smokers or alcoholics because they're trying to cover up the smell of what they've been doing. We're not saying this guy was doing either, but the latter would explain the crash and his just leaving the scene immediately. In the meantime, the Mustang owner has probably dealt with a nightmare insurance claims process. What do you want to bet that old Ranger didn't have collision coverage?
