Man's body found in Boipatong stream
BOIPATONG.- An inquest has been opened by the Boipatong police after a man's body was found floating in a stream behind Lebohang Secondary School yesterday, Monday.
It is said that at about 06:00 the community reached out to the police reporting a sighting of a body seen lying in the stream of water, behind the school.
'Members on duty attended the scene upon receiving an anonymous call. The police officials found the community members gathered next to the stream of the water; the police cordoned the scene and walked towards the bridge were the body of an unknown African male who was found lying dead,' said police spokesperson Constable Selina Mthimkulu.
The SAPS Water wing assisted in removing the body that was found facing upwards.
'The deceased was wearing a brown jersey, a blue Fabian t-shirt, blue jeans and a grey All-star tekkies.'
Medical services confirmed that the deceased sustained bruises at the left and right jaws, and he was declared dead at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.
