2025 Downtown Live lineup announced, featuring slew of genres

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The official lineup for the 2025 season of Downtown Live was announced Friday morning. During a press conference downtown on Friday, Downtown Live announced its lineup for this year's concerts. The lineup will feature a slew of genres ranging from Reggae to Country to Blues and more. The first band to be featured downtown this year is Mississippi Heat. Mississippi Heat is a Blues band from Chicago led by Pierre Lacocque. The band's motto is 'Traditional Blues With A Unique Sound,' and they hold a high reverence for the culture surrounding Blues, its history, and culture. Mississippi will be performing on June 6. This has led the group to perform their own takes on a variety of genres, including Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, and Funk. The band is distinguished by their high-energy drum and horn sound. SBBB will be performing on July 4. In August, Rocket & Gizzae will be performing their blend of genres that include takes on Reggae, Jazz, Rock, and Blues. The band has earned multiple awards in its 35 years, including Grammys and Chicago Music Awards, and has even famously performed with artists such as Ziggy Marley and Bruce Springsteen. Rocket & Gizzae will be performing on August 1. The final band performing this year will be Chuck Mead & The Stalwarts. Chuck Mead is described as a Country singer with a Rock 'n' Roll heart. He's also well known for his role in the rebirth of Lower Broadway and the Global Neo Traditional Country music movement. Chuck Mead and the Stalwarts will be performing on September 1. All Downtown Live concerts will take place from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. on the listed dates and will cost $5 to attend. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs.
