Eagles Projected 2025 Depth Chart: Quarterback
Eagles Projected 2025 Depth Chart: Quarterback Predicting which Eagles' QBs will make the final 53-man roster JALEN TO DEVONTA DEEP TOUCHDOWN! 📺: #SBLIX on FOX 📱: Tubi + NFL app — NFL (@NFL) February 10, 2025 With the NFL Draft and initial waves of free agency behind us, we can begin to break down the roster. The Eagles kick off OTAS in ten days, so now is a good time to predict the depth chart before position battles get underway. Today, we will start with the quarterback. QB1, Jalen Hurts Hurts is entering his sixth season with Philadelphia, fresh off winning a championship and taking home Super Bowl MVP. Last season, he set career-highs in completion percentage (68.7) and passer rating (103.7) while continuing to be dynamic with his legs. Hurts has a 46-20 record as a starter, winning 70% of his games despite having a new playcaller every season. You can rank NFL quarterbacks however you choose, but Hurts must be included when discussing the top-five names. QB2, Tanner McKee The Eagles traded last year's backup, Kenny Pickett, to the Cleveland Browns in March, effectively making Tanner McKee the QB2. McKee should've been the backup last year, but Philadelphia opted for experience, and Pickett delivered when Hurts got injured late in the season. The former sixth-round pick out of Stanford has impressed when given the opportunity, so much so that teams inquired about his availability this offseason. He went 3/4 passing for 54 yards and two touchdowns in relief duty vs. Dallas, becoming the first player in the NFL Draft era to have multiple TD passes in his NFL debut while attempting five or fewer passes. McKee threw for 269 yards and two more scores the following week in his first career start against the Giants. Although the NFL is moving away from traditional pocket passers, McKee's poise and accuracy make him a promising player who can win games when needed. GO BACK TO AJ BROWN. Great throw by Tanner McKee. 📺: #DALvsPHI on FOX 📱: — NFL (@NFL) December 29, 2024 QB3, Kyle McCord Eagles GM Howie Roseman typically favors his draft picks over reclamation projects. In exchange for Kenny Pickett, Philadelphia received QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson to potentially battle for the third QB spot. The Eagles also selected Syracuse QB Kyle McCord in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. After one year as a starter at Ohio State, McCord led the FBS with an ACC-record 4,779 passing yards. He grew up in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, and idolized Donovan McNabb, often watching his games at Lincoln Financial Field. While Thompson wasn't drafted into an ideal situation, he's thrown ten interceptions to just one touchdown in his career. DTR's athleticism may be a better fit stylistically, but McCord is more talented. Practice Squad: Dorian Thompson-Robinson

Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler hired as Philadelphia Eagles' quarterbacks coach Show Caption Hide Caption Joe Montana on officiating, Niners quarterback Brock Purdy and SB LIX Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana talks all things NFL, Super Bowl 59 and his partnership with Pfizer. The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles went back to college — to find their new quarterbacks coach. On Friday, Bowling Green announced its football coach, Scot Loeffler, was leaving the program to become the quarterbacks coach for the Eagles. Doug Nussmeier previously held the position for Philadelphia before he followed former offensive coordinator and newly hired New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore to the NFC South. REQUIRED READING: 'I'm just different': Travis Hunter explains why he could pull off NFL double duty "BGSU is a special university and community that truly embraces relationships, people and the student experience," said Derek van der Merwe — Bowling Green vice president for athletics strategy — in a statement. "In these last six seasons, Scot built a very successful program in a challenging climate in collegiate sports. "More importantly, he built this program while ensuring his team and coaches were truly committed to the values and mission that make this university great." The 50-year-old took over the Falcons program in November 2018 as a first-time head coach, producing a 27-41 record in six seasons. However, Bowling Green went 20-19 in the last three seasons, which included 7-6 seasons in 2023 and 2024 and three straight bowl appearances — the second-longest streak in program history. Loeffler will now be paired with new Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to keep the Eagles offense humming. He will get to work with quarterback Jalen Hurts, who won Super Bowl MVP honors with three total touchdowns in a 40-22 victory over the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Scot Loeffler coaching career Loeffler joined Lloyd Carr's Michigan staff as a student assistant in 1996 after playing quarterback for the Wolverines from 1993-96. In 2000, he took over as quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan before returning to his alma mater in the same role from 2002-07. His only prior NFL experience was as the Detroit Lions' quarterbacks coach, during the 2008 season. He also served as a quarterbacks coach with Florida under Urban Meyer during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, working with Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, who had his most efficient season in 2009 under Loeffler. As noted in Bowling Green's statement, Loeffler has worked with eight college quarterbacks who went on to the NFL: Tebow, Tom Brady, Brian Griese, Chad Henne, Drew Henson, John Navarre, Logan Thomas and Anthony Brown. Here's a look at Loeffler's complete coaching history:

Travis Kelce Called Critics "Dickheads" After Jason Kelce Became Emotional Over Super Bowl Backlash
There was a clear winner when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chief at the Super Bowl on Sunday 40-22. For former Eagles center Jason Kelce, the win was complicated since he played for the team for 13 years before retiring in 2024, and they were up against his little brother, Travis Kelce. To complicate things further, when Travis and Taylor Swift went public with their romance in September 2023, he gained an entirely new fandom outside the typical Kansas City Cheifs fans — Swifties. When the Chiefs lost, some of Taylor's fans took it pretty hard — to the point that they scrutinized Jason's support for his former team's victory. By the same token, Eagles fans also felt some type of way that Jason openly supported his brother. Taylor Swift fans upset: "we declared jason kelce should be out of the suite," one person wrote. On Feb. 10, in a lengthy X post, Jason explained his support for the Eagles and Travis to hopefully quell the naysayers. "Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!!" Jason wrote. "There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I've collected my thoughts, I'll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever." "On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career." "There isn't a person I love or care about more. It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity." On Feb. 12, on the New Heights podcast, they further discussed, in person, the backlash Jason received for supporting both the Eagles and his brother, and Travis was quick to defend him. "I knew it was going to be weird going into it. It progressively got weirder as the week went on," Jason said. "On one hand, you've played your entire life with an organization and team. A lot of people in that building, coaches, friends, teammates you've gone through adversity with, and it really makes you very, very close. And then, on the other hand, you have your brother, and I've always supported you. I've always wanted you to win." "And I wanted you to win this game. I thought I made that clear," Jason added. "It was hard to navigate because ... I'm obviously trying to say that I have people on the Eagles that I love, and I also have you, and I tried to make it known that I was rooting for you, and it felt like I couldn't be right. [It] felt like no matter what I said, some people were gonna skew it and say that I'm rooting for the Eagles, and some people were gonna skew it and say that I was rooting for the Chiefs or Travis." Travis had a few things to say about the backlash toward his brother, reassuring him that he was aware of his support no matter what was discussed on social media. "It's just the world we live in, man. Everybody wants to just fucking call people out. I know I always had your support," Travis said, noting that Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelce, have created a great community within Philadelphia and the Eagles organization, including their philanthropic work. "You don't have to explain anything to anybody. I know who Jason Kelce is, and I know my brother and what his intentions are, and nobody can ever fucking confuse that. You can't let these jamokes online make you think that you're in the wrong for what you're saying," he continued. "I think the people in the Philadelphia organization understand exactly who you are and what you represent, and you were saying it as well." Travis told Jason it "doesn't make you less of a brother" because he's still very attached to the Philadelphia organization and proud of their win. Jason became visibly choked up when he explained that his connection to Philadelphia doesn't take precedence over rooting for his brother. "No matter who won, it was gonna be happy and sad regardless and trying to communicate why I might be rooting for the Eagles," he said. Before Jason could continue with his explanation, Travis said, "Fuck 'em. You don't owe any of these dickheads the acknowledgment. You really don't, Jason. Everyone that knows you knows your intentions. Anybody saying anything otherwise is, like you said, is just fucking trying to get a rise outta somebody else." "You're giving these people way too much of your effort, too much of your time, too much of your attention," Travis added. "I didn't know what it was gonna feel like going through the game. I thought I did. I thought I understood going into it that I would be happy in some way and sad in another way. The further the game went on, I just got more and more upset," Jason responded. "And like, part of that is like I'm in a box with all of our family, loved ones, and friends. We're all just like, dude, this, this sucks for Trav, this sucks for his team. And... I didn't anticipate the amount of just like sheer discomfort and frustration that I would have watching the game." In the beginning, Jason received a lot of backlash from some Taylor and Eagles fans. Once the Kelce brothers had an opportunity to candidly discuss the topic on their podcast, more people stood behind them both with positive reactions. One person wrote, "Im once again praising the hell outta the Kelce parents. It's so incredibly genuinely healing to see these grown men talk with such love, respect, and understanding with each other. I just love seeing Jason being there for his brother. Even Trav is being open and honest with his feelings on it being a tough loss is so appreciated. A nice reminder that is all about love and indeed, loss..." @newheightshow /

Jason Kelce reflects on Eagles win, defends brother Travis Kelce: ‘Odd for me to watch'
Jason Kelce's role as a Super Bowl spectator was particularly complicated this year. The retired Philadelphia Eagles center shared early Tuesday that he felt 'a lot of emotions' after his former team won Sunday's championship in a dominant showing against the Kansas City Chiefs and his brother Travis Kelce. Advertisement 'That game was odd for me to watch if I'm being completely honest,' Jason wrote in a lengthy post on X. 'I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago. On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.' Kelce congratulated the Eagles on their 40-22 rout of the Chiefs, Philadelphia's second Super Bowl win, saying he was proud of quarterback Jalen Hurts, coach Nick Sirianni and the entire team. 'They have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly, and proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season,' Kelce wrote. 'It is extremely difficult for a team in the NFL to have enough talent, coaching, fortune, and character to win a Super Bowl. The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold. A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is.' Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!! There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I've collected my thoughts, I'll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever. That game was odd for me to watch if… — Jason Kelce (@JasonKelce) February 11, 2025 He also mentioned Travis, who is facing questions this offseason about his NFL future and possible retirement. Travis had just four catches (none in the first half) for 39 yards in the loss, a notable contrast to his performance in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory in which the tight end posted nine receptions for 93 yards. Advertisement 'There isn't a person I love or care about more,' Jason said in his post. 'It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity. 'He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past. I know right now they are still thinking of last night and the shortcomings in the last game, But in time that will fade, and the greatness they have exhibited as a group will remain as one of the most dominant eras of football ever.' GO DEEPER Inside the mind of Chiefs star Travis Kelce: 'He's always in his own zone' Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes declined to speculate about his teammate's future when recently asked about it, saying, 'I'll let Travis make that decision on his own.' Travis' resume already includes three Super Bowl wins and 10 Pro Bowl selections. He's also one of 14 players in NFL history with more than 1,000 catches in his career. Jason, a popular media personality who won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2018, concluded his post by again congratulating Philadelphia. 'Man I love this sport, the people that play it, and the fans that enjoy it. Nothing else like it,' he wrote. 'Congratulations Philadelphia, I look forward to the speeches and celebrations that will happen in the coming days. I mean who doesn't love a parade! In the words of Chase Utley 'World F—— Champs', and to all the haters out there, remember what my man Jay Ajayi said 'F— Em.''
