One dead in car crash in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person is reported dead following a crash in Cherokee County. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) stated that, on June 5, troopers were called out to Boiling Springs Highway near the intersection with Grassy Pine Road, 5 miles north of Gaffney. Authorities said that at 6:14 p.m., a 2013 Ford Sedan was traveling east on Grassy Pine Road, when a 2014 Ford pickup truck hit the Sedan at the intersection. Officers said that the driver and a passenger in the Sedan were injured in the crash. The two victims were transported to Cherokee Medical Center, where the passenger succumbed to their injuries. Their identity has not been revealed at this time. The driver of the pickup truck, who was the sole occupant, was reported to be uninjured. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash near Johnsonville in Florence County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. It happened on Highway 378, also known as Myrtle Beach Highway, when a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup went left of center and hit a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, SCHP Cpl. David Jones said. The F-150 driver died at the scene, and the Silverado driver was taken to an area hospital. The F-150 was traveling east when the crash happened, and the Silverado was going west, Jones said. The crash blocked a section of the highway between Capitola Road and the Marion County line while emergency crews responded. No additional information was immediately available. One dead after collision in Bamberg County

BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The South Carolina High Patrol has confirmed the death of one person in Bamberg County after a vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon. According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with SCHP, the collision took place at approximately 3 p.m. on Ehrhardt Road at Thunder Road on April 23. The incident took place as a 2006 Ford F-150 containing two occupants was traveling north on Thunder Road. A 2003 F-250, also containing two occupants, was traveling east on Ehrhardt Road. Both vehicles collided at the intersection, according to police. One occupant of the 2006 Ford F-150 was injured and transported to an area hospital where the individual succumbed to injuries. HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed Sunday in an early morning crash on Highway 31 in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. It happened at about 2 a.m. near Highway 707 when a 2016 Hyundai Sonata traveling south went off the left side of the road and hit a concrete barrier, SCHP Sgt. Tyler Tidwell said. The car then went into the median and over an embankment before overturning, The driver was the only person in the car and died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Tidwell said.
