How to use SEAF Troopers in Helldivers 2 effectively?

(Image via Arrowhead Game Studios) Super Earth Armed Forces in Helldivers 2 are not just the background props. The troopers, or rather the secret weapon of Super Earth , can turn the tide if they are used right. While the greenhorns would not replace the squad, but with the smart commands, they will add the needed firepower. Here is how you can recruit them and deploy them in an effective manner without getting yourself or them killed. How to recruit and command the SEAF Troopers ? In order to recruit and command the troopers, you will first have to find and rally the troop. Then, follow the rest of the steps mentioned below to use them right. Find and recruit the troops SEAF soldiers spawn randomly, as the blue dots, on the minimap during the Super Earth defense missions. To recruit them, hold the ping button (Q/R1/RT) and select the option Follow Me from the voice wheel. Once done, the soldiers will stick with you until the extraction, offering suppressing fires (AR-23 Liberators) and even destroying the objectives like the Cognitive Disruptors. Note : Sprint to the troop's locations before the Illuminate patrols wipe them out. Maximize the troop's combat use The basic SEAF Troopers will come with grenades, Liberator rifles, and the occasionally EAT-17 rocket launchers. They auto-target the objectives, like the parked ships and the Cognitive Disruptors. The troopers can be best used as distraction units for drawing the enemy aggro, while you can flank; objective clearers, auto-targeting the enemy structures in the range; and Cannon fodder as they get struck by the rockets, while you don't have to. The ones with the EAT-17 rocket launchers perfectly shred the armored units like the Fleshmobs. So, keep them alive by pinging the high-value targets. Control the troops positioning Use the Wait command to position them at the chokepoints before the big fights. It will be perfect for defending the extraction zones or for guarding the hacked terminals. Just make sure to avoid placing them near the stratagem drops. How to maximize the limited utility of the troops? If you are playing solo, the SEAF troopers will draw the aggro and let you flank the enemies or revive the teammates. The grenades they have can clear the bug nets, and the rockets can soften the tanks. Just do not rely on troops for precision. It can lead to friendly fire. The troopers cannot reload, heal, or board the extraction ships but can chatter the boosts immersion. So, listen to them gush on serving alongside the real Helldiver as you continue to mow down Xenos. It might be cheesy, but their morale is important. SEAF troopers move slower than the sprinting Helldiver. If, in the middle of the mission, they vanish, backtrack. They are either stuck or are lagging behind. Note : Re-issue Follow Me every 30 seconds to keep the squad intact. Also, avoid dropping the stratagems on them. If the squad is packing some heavy artillery or the airstrikes, the SEAF Troopers will become liabilities. The low awareness of the troopers means they will block the shots you make, trigger accidental team kills, and even clutter the battlefield. For the high-difficulty runs, it is better to go solo instead of babysitting them. The SEAF Troopers will not carry the missions, but they are the free reinforcements when you get outnumbered. So, use them as the sacrificial scouts or the mobile cover, and they will prove their worth. Just remember, careless leadership is never rewarded by democracy. So, do your best. Helldivers 2 Finally Takes The Fight To The City Streets In Urban Warfare Update

The Illuminate threat has spend the last few days on a collision course with Super Earth, and now the planet is under siege as players face the extraction shooter's biggest challenge yet. A new Heart of Democracy update ups the stakes and adds urban warfare, as Helldivers 2' player count once again surges. It's basically War of the Worlds meets Halo 3: ODST out there right now. The invasion will task players with activating cannons to take out the Illuminate ships and team up with AI-controlled ally troops patrolling the local Mega City streets. There will also be citizen NPCs running for their lives. Players will have to protect that lot as well, and will be punished for any friendly fire accidents. Here's the Heart of Democracy trailer: Helldivers 2 has been in a bit of a lull for the last few months, but last week's massive patch got many fans to dust off their drop pods and log back on with the addition of weapon customization, new melee armaments, and lots of arsenal re-balancing. The game's concurrent player count is now headed back well beyond 100,000 on Steam where most of the game's hardcore community plays. The AI-controlled ally SEAF trooper squads are the biggest draw so far. While players have spent over a year of Helldivers 2 fighting again massive alien armies alone or with three other teammates, the Super Earth battlefields are full of NPCs to aid them as part of the planet's defenses. That includes shooting at giant Illuminate tripod units, but also things as simple as pushing buttons to unlock weapon cashes and saluting as you run by. They are meant to be expendable, but players are protecting them like all of their Super Samples depend on it. . For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update brings the war to Super Earth

The Illuminate have invaded Super Earth. Despite earlier missions to stop them in space, they've broken through and are now running wild in our cities. With buildings burning and civilians running for their lives, the war has reached home. The Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update brings this dramatic twist to life, turning the battlefield into a desperate fight for survival and freedom. This is not just another mission. The update drops players right into the heart of the action, where skyscrapers, packed streets, and frightened citizens make each mission feel more intense. The chaos on Super Earth now becomes the setting for planetary liberation. What happens in these city battles will impact the wider war, as players work together to push back the Illuminate invasion. Fight in the streets and protect the citizens The city biomes introduced in the Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update are very different from past environments. Instead of open fields or alien terrain, these maps feature tight corners, narrow streets, and tall buildings. Citizens will be seen running for cover, and players must avoid harming them. Friendly fire will not be tolerated, and any Helldiver caught killing civilians will face punishment. The Illuminate have reached the Heart of Democracy. Our Mega Cities are under siege. Liberty now hangs in the balance. The Ministry of Defence has authorised arsenal upgrades and placed SEAF soldiers on active duty. Today, we fight for the future of Super Earth! Missions here are harder because of the constant pressure. The Illuminate attack in waves and will not give players much room to breathe. The feeling of war in your own backyard raises the tension and makes every decision matter. To fight back, players must locate and activate Planetary Defense Cannons hidden beneath the cities. These huge weapons are essential for taking down the enemy fleet. Activating them under pressure while holding off alien attacks is one of the key goals. It creates a strong sense of purpose and teamwork. New support and enemies on Super Earth Fighting the Illuminate alone is not the only option. In the Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update, players can now get help from SEAF troops. These soldiers are scattered throughout the map and will engage enemies on their own. Players can also order them to follow and help with objectives. "SUPER EARTH WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT"🦅#Helldivers2 These small squads are not just background decoration. They fight, defend, and give players some breathing room in tough moments. But leadership matters. Helldivers must guide them well and keep them alive to get the most out of their support. Alongside this help comes more danger. New enemy types have joined the Illuminate's forces. The Crescent Overseer hovers and scouts, the Stingray flies like a jet and attacks from above, and the Fleshmob charges in with brute force. Each new enemy changes the way players must fight and defend their objectives. To deal with these threats, players must rely on the weapon customisation system introduced just before this update. This system allows players to upgrade and tune their guns, unlocking attachments as they level up. There are no new weapons this time, but better customisation means players can be more prepared for city combat. The war for Super Earth has begun The Helldivers 2 Heart of Democracy update is one of the biggest shifts in the game so far. It changes the location, adds new types of missions, introduces allies and enemies, and demands more from players. This is not just a fight to survive. It is a battle to take back your home. The Illuminate invasion has begun. Landfall is confirmed at multiple sites across Super Earth. Our Mega Cities are under siege. For the first time in more than a century, hostile forces have breached our sovereign Battle for Super Earth has Helldivers… Whether you are calling down a Hellpod for the first time or leading your squad into another mission, this update puts pressure on everyone. Every city you save, every cannon you activate, and every citizen you protect will push back against the Illuminate. The fight is far from over. But with courage, strategy, and teamwork, victory is still possible. Super Earth is counting on you.

Good news, patriots, Helldivers 2 has a new patch today and it adds a lot of small buffs and fixes. This is great news for me, personally, because the mines have had their cooldown reduced by 33% and their damage increased. This is terrible news for my squadmates. First off, a fan-favorite strategy is coming back. We used to be able to emote while falling to somehow prevent all fall damage, which looked hilarious and was also incredibly helpful at times. The ability to emote while falling was taken away back in October, but now it's back. The caveat is it won't reduce the damage you take, but at least you'll look cool while falling to your death. As the patch notes explain: "You'll be able to freely express yourself as you fall to your imminent death or severe injuries - Nothing a stim can't fix!" The changes I'm most excited about are the minefield buffs. All three mine types have had their cooldowns reduced from 180 seconds to 120 seconds, which is a huge buff. The anti-personnel and incendiary mines have also both had their damage increased substantially. Better watch where you step, teammates. A great quality of life fix is that "The Ministry of Humanity has added a clause to its Principles of Correct Posture for Safe Lifting," so we can now jog while carrying SEAF artillery shells and barrels. No more rapidly dropping them and picking them back up to move quickly. There are also several FRV changes. You can now throw grenades and stratagems while you're leaning out from the passenger seats, and its health and handling have been improved, too. A bug fix has also been implemented that means if you ragdoll into an FRV it will no longer be "yeeted into space," and hitting civilian cars with melee weapons shouldn't send them flying anymore. One bug fix that I'm a bit sad about is that we'll no longer slide around on the floor after a blast or being knocked into shallow water, "despite it being the year of the snake." That bug saved my life on many a bot mission, so I'll miss it greatly. Meanwhile, another bug that absolutely broke some missions for me has also been patched out. Civilians should be able to find the shuttle door properly during Emergency Evacuations now. Gas weapons have also seen several improvements made to their targeting and the gas effect duration. The guard dog should now move onto a new enemy once one has been gassed, and its range has been increased - it's one of the best stratagems to use right now. Illuminate maps should become less crowded, too, as dropship wreckages will despawn after a set time to stop them obstructing paths. I found it fun, honestly, but I can see how it would frustrate a lot of you, so I understand why it's been patched. Last but not least, the devs "fixed a small visual bug with the Stalker's tongue (you don't want to know what it took to fix it)." Well, now I really do want to know. You can read the full patch notes right here for the full details. Once you've spread some managed democracy, check out some of the other best online games you can play right now.
