BC panel to hold 3-day public hearings from June 9
Hyderabad: The
Telangana BC Commission
has decided to conduct
public hearings
on June 9, 10, and 11 over re-inclusion of 26 castes that were omitted from the Backward Classes (BCs) list following the formation of Telangana in 2014.
The commission will accept representations and objections on this matter.
A notification to this effect will be issued on May 15. Additionally, representations and objections could be submitted in person or by post at the commission's office between May 31 and June 13. In response to the central govt's requirement that the term 'DNT Caste' (denotified tribes) be included on caste certificates for applying to the
SEED Scheme
, the commission has decided to evaluate the issuance of
DNT certificates
and would recommend procedures to the would also gather necessary information from the relevant authorities for this purpose. The BC Commission, which is in the process of collecting details about BC employees working in various govt departments, would hold a meeting with the additional secretaries of those departments on May 19. Additionally, in response to a representation made by BC employees at Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University regarding perceived injustices in the preparation of the seniority list, the commission has decided to seek a report from the university's vice-chancellor concerning the issue.
