Free concert, light shows among events in and around Changi Airport to celebrate SG60
SINGAPORE - A free concert, headlined by singers Stefanie Sun and Kit Chan, is among a slew of events planned by Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Jewel Changi Airport in July and August to celebrate Singapore's 60th birthday.
In a joint statement on June 25, CAG's Executive Vice-President of airport management Jayson Goh said: 'Changi Airport has grown alongside our nation, and it is a place which holds precious memories for many Singaporeans and travellers.
'With a vibrant line-up of events, we look forward to welcoming everyone to be part of the SG60 festivities at Changi Airport.'
SG60 Homecoming Concert
The free concert, to be held at Jewel on Aug 1 , will also feature singer-songwriter Sezairi, pop artiste Regina Song, Mandopop folk-duo The Freshman, and pop band SuperSonic.
Tickets are required for entry to the concert, and will be distributed via ballot.
More details will be shared on Changi Airport's social media channels by early-July, according to the joint statement.
Light and music showcase
A special rendition of Jewel's light and music showcase will feature Home, a popular National Day song by Kit Chan, and projections of iconic Singaporean symbols.

It is set to run throughout the month of August, with shows at 8pm and 9pm daily and an additional show from Fridays to Sundays at 10pm.
Horticultural displays
The Jewel Forest Valley will be decked out in over 1,200 orchids in August, with the floral display featuring red and white blooms, along with a special Dendrobium Jewel Changi Airport hybrid, created to mark Jewel's fifth anniversary.
Also, Singapore's national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, will be featured at Terminal 3 from July 21 as a 7m-tall centrepiece of a floral display there. Also spotlighted in the 270sqm garden there are orchids like Dendrobium Changi Airport and Renanthera Singaporeans.
At Terminal 2, a 6m-tal l floral Merlion will be on display. Created using 60 types of plants, the display will also feature local snacks like curry puffs.
Charity walk
Participants will get either a Buddy or Mr Merlion mini plush keychain upon completing the walk.

A 2km night walk on the Changi Airport Connector will take place on July 27 in support of selected Community Chest-funded programmes.
The walk will begin at Terminal 2 , and takes one through 'a glowing 2km SG60-themed stretch' of the path before it ends at Terminal 4 .
The walk will feature trivia stations and local treats such as ice cream sandwiches and gem biscuits, with those completing the walk receiving a medal and an exclusive mini-plush keychain .
Each participant will receive a race pack containing an event tee, eco-bag and retail vouchers.

Pop-up exhibition
An immersive exhibition at the Changi Experience Studio will allow visitors to explore the transformation of air travel through the decades. For example, v isitors will witness how in-flight dining has evolved over the years to changing tastes, diets and innovations.
The exhibition starts from Aug 1 , with tickets starting from $6 and on sale from now till Sept 30.
Outdoor light up
From July 28, Airport Boulevard - the road leading to the airport - will be decorated with images of some of Singapore's iconic sights.
Themed '60 years of Homecoming', features such as the Merlion, Toa Payoh Dragon playground and Gardens by the Bay will be displayed, leading to a red-and-white arch.
