Israel's Strikes on Iran Raises Risk of Wider War

Brent surged almost 10% after Israel carried out military strikes against Iran. Israel targeted nuclear facilities and killed senior military commanders in a major escalation that could spark a broad war in the Middle East. Explosions were heard across Tehran, Natanz — home to a key atomic site — and other cities, according to local and social media. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel — which used 200 air force planes and said it hit around 100 targets — had 'struck at the heart of Iran's nuclear enrichment program.' Trump Expected to Unveil US-UK Trade Pact & Rescind Global Chip Curbs

US President Donald Trump is expected to announce a trade agreement with the UK on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter, in a limited deal that may nonetheless signal the direction of the US president's global trade war. Trump teased the announcement in a social media post on Wednesday night, saying he would hold an Oval Office news conference to discuss 'a MAJOR TRADE DEAL WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF A BIG, AND HIGHLY RESPECTED, COUNTRY.' Meanwhile the Trump administration plans to rescind some Biden-era AI chip curbs as part of a broader effort to revise global semiconductor trade restrictions that have drawn strong opposition from major tech companies and foreign governments.
