City of Springfield introduces SGF Ambassadors Academy program
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The City of Springfield is starting a new SGF Ambassadors Academy program to allow volunteers to engage in city involvement. The organization are looking for residents 18 years and older for the service.
Participants in the program will get experience in seeing how the city handles operations around Springfield.

Members of the program will get to meet a member of the City Council, City Manager and elected officials. They will also get a chance to visit the Police-Fire Training Center, the Springfield Botanical Center, the Recycling Center and the Traffic Management Center.
'Volunteering is about much more than filling gaps in service — it's about fostering a real connection between our local government and the community we serve,' Cora Scott, Director of Public Information and Civic Engagement, said in a press release. 'Through the SGF Ambassadors program, we are creating opportunities for citizens to not only understand how the city functions but also to directly influence and strengthen it.'
