Lodge International School beat 33 other schools for swim title

KUCHING (April 29): Lodge International School (Primary) created history when it emerged for the first time as overall champion at the 8th PASC Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition which ended at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre on Sunday. The meet, which attracted 265 swimmers from 34 primary schools, also marked the first time it was opened to all primary schools in Sarawak. The champion school amassed 537 points to narrowly defeat Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua No. 3 Kuching (531) who won the best boys team award. SJK Chung Hua Stampin (C) rounded up the top three with 345.5 points. Lodge also lifted the best girls team title and three best swimmer awards. The best swimmer awards were given out to Kayden Lip Kay Loo of SJK Chung Hua No. 4 and Dayang Yuhaisha Falish of SK Traoh (Primary 1),Samuel Kwong Lik Ling of Lodge International School and Ilyana Arissa of SK Merdang (Primary 2), Dylan Hung Fan Ling of SJK Methodist Sibu jointly with Matt Jia Chen Chiew of SJK Chung Hua No. 6 and Charis Tong Xiin Yan of Lodge International School (Primary 3), Nathaniel He Jun Chai of SJK Chung Hua Batu 4 and Larissa Ya Xuan Yii of Lodge International School (Primary 4), Braylon Khai Xu Lee of SJK Chung Hua No. 3 and Eva Xing Xi Chai of SJK Chung Hua No. 6 (Primary 5), Russell Yi Han Liaw of SJK Chung Hua No. 3 and Caitlyn Xuan Yeo of St Joseph Private School (Primary 6). The meet was declared open by Amateur Swimming Association of Sarawak president Datuk Wee Hong Seng with PASC president Tan Kun Gee and founder-cum-advisor Voon Yong Hui also present. Senator Dato Ahmad Ibrahim presented the prizes during the closing ceremony. The PASC Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition has a rich history. The inaugural edition in 2016 was won by SJK Chung Hua No. 4 which also retained the title in 2017. St Joseph Private Primary School captured the overall title in 2018 followed by SJK Chung Hua No. 4 reclaiming it in 2019. After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the meet resumed in 2022 with SJK Chung Hua No. 5 emerging as champion before SJK Chung Hua No. 3 won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
