Two new Noida expressway underpasses: 15 firms throw hat in the ring

Noida: The Noida Authority has announced that 15 companies have submitted proposals for constructing two new underpasses on the Noida Expressway. The Authority will evaluate these proposals before finalising the construction agency. The underpasses will be built near Jhatta and Sultanpur villages and will be developed using diaphragm wall technology, necessitating traffic diversion during construction. While the Sultanpur underpass will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore, the Jhatta underpass is estimated to cost Rs 100 crore. The completion deadline for both projects, measuring 700 metres each, is 18 months. "This underpass is intended to facilitate movement for residents of Wish Town, Sultanpur, and Sectors 128 and 129, providing easier access to Sectors 105 and 108," he said. Citing that nearly 1,00,000 people currently live in Jaypee Wish Town, residents highlighted the urgent need for an underpass at the place. The second underpass will be constructed near Jhatta village and will serve people who are travelling from Sectors 145 and 146 to Sectors 155 and 159, as well as Greater Noida.
