Felda Ulu Tebrau crash: Siblings were returning from Hari Raya visit, says mum

SERI ALAM: Two siblings, who died in a collision in Felda Ulu Tebrau here last night, were on their way home after visiting their father for Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Bandar Tiram. Their mother, Asilah Minhat, 38, said Ammar Saifullah Zaibur, 15, and his 20-year-old sister, Nuraisyah Amalin, had gone to visit their father, Zaibur Burhan, 47, and their aunt. "At the time of the incident, around 8.45pm, I was at home. I only found out about the accident when my son's friend called me. "I am in shock, but I accept their passing. I've cried my heart out, but what's meant to happen has happened. "They were my first and second of four children. Before the incident, there were no noticeable changes in their behaviour. They were the same as always," she said when met at the Forensics Department of Sultan Ismail Hospital today. Asilah, a single mother, said Nuraisyah had recently completed her Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and was working temporarily. Meanwhile, Ammar Saifullah was a Form Three student at SMK Felda Ulu Tebrau. "They will be buried at the Felda Ulu Tebrau Muslim cemetery after Zohor prayers," she added. Ammar Saifullah and Nuraisyah were killed instantly when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided with their motorcycle at a junction in Felda Ulu Tebrau, Ulu Tiram. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the accident occurred around 9.50pm. Initial investigations found that the motorcycle, ridden by the teenager, was headed towards Felda Ulu Tebrau from Jalan Ledang, and is believed to have gone through a red light while making a right turn. At the same time, an MPV, driven by a 40-year-old local man, proceeding through a green light from the opposite direction.
