Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The Jharkhand Tribes Advisory Council (TAC) had on May 21 gave its nod to the project with amendments to the earlier design. I've landed my dream job but just found out I'm pregnant – do I tell my new boss now?
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) APPRENTICE star and West Ham United vice-chair Karren Brady answers your careers questions. Here, Karren gives advice to a reader who has just been offered her dream job but has found out she's pregnant. 1 Karren Brady gives you career advice Q) have just accepted a pretty senior role at a firm I've wanted to be part of for a while. However, since receiving the offer, I've discovered I'm pregnant – we weren't trying for a baby, but we'd like to progress with the pregnancy. My question is, what's the right next step – do I tell my new employer up front? Or maybe I should stay at my current job in order to get Statutory Maternity Pay? I'm trying to deal with the physical, mental and financial changes to my life this pregnancy is going to bring, and I can't decide the best way to move forward. Help! Gracie, via email A: Congratulations on your pregnancy, and also on your new role! It's completely understandable to feel uncertain about how to navigate this situation. When it comes to telling your new employer, remember that your pregnancy is a personal matter. West Ham chief Karren Brady has her say on VAR in Premier League and predicts 'a season of anger and confusion' Legally, you're not required to tell your new employer until 15 weeks before your due date, but being open early on can build trust, especially in a senior role. When you do, focus on expressing your excitement for the role and your commitment to contributing, while also being transparent about your maternity leave plans. As for staying in your current job to qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), that's a valid option if you've been there long enough and need the financial security. You likely won't qualify for SMP from the new employer, but you may qualify for Maternity Allowance. Visit for details, and consider talking to HR or a financial adviser. Ultimately, weigh the long-term benefits of the new role against the shorter-term needs of your pregnancy. This is an exciting time, so try not to let work stress overshadow it. Good luck!

Matarangi Coastal Restoration And Rewilding Begins This June
Together, we're restoring the Coromandel's coast – starting in Matarangi – to improve dune health, increase native habitat, and build resilience to erosion and climate impacts. $9.3 million is budgeted in our 2024–2034 Long Term Plan to restore approximately 35km of coastline from Whangapoua to Whangamatā. Activities include native planting, weed and pest control and reshaping dunes (earthworks). Beginning in June 2025, sections of the Matarangi dune front will undergo transformation over the coming years through foredune planting and rewilding efforts - this includes halting mowing, planting native species, controlling weeds and pests, and reshaping the dunes. The coastal restoration programme supports priorities identified in the Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) Project and meets obligations under the Wildlife Act 1953, the Reserves Act 1977, and the New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement 2010. Our restoration programme will: Rewild back dunes by reducing mowing to let nature take the lead and by planting native flora Increase and improve habitat for native lizards, birds and insects Support climate adaptation and community resilience What you may see: Areas where mowing has stopped to allow native growth Volunteers and contractors planting and maintaining dunes Signage explaining the work While some areas may temporarily look a little wild, rest assured – it's part of creating a healthier, more resilient coast. It will take approximately two-three years for the new habitat to establish and mature. Our Council, along with Waikato Regional Council, have just applied for a five-year Wildlife Act permit to undertake this work. We're working closely with local community groups, iwi partners and Waikato Regional Council to deliver this work. We know this is a change, and it may raise some questions. That's why we're committed to on-going communication every step of the way.

June 2-8 is Medicare Fraud Prevention Week
The Senior Medicare Patrol launches a mobile app to fight fraud! WASHINGTON, June 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The fourth annual Medicare Fraud Prevention Week kicks off on Mon., June 2. Led by the Administration for Community Living's (ACL) Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program, the national observance was established to raise awareness about Medicare fraud and educate individuals and communities about protecting themselves. This year's event will debut a brand-new mobile app, "SMP Medicare Tracker", that will allow users to learn about scams through games and alerts, read news, and report fraud. Another feature will be the "SMP My Health Care Tracker" where users can keep track of what happens during health care appointments to then compare to their Medicare statements for accuracy. "Each year, Medicare loses an estimated $60 billion due to fraud, errors, and abuse," says the director of ACL's Office of Healthcare Information and Counseling, Rebecca Kinney, who oversees the national SMP program. "Fraud can happen to anyone, and its impact on individuals and families can be dramatic, so it's vital to make people aware of the latest scams and prevention tips and tools." Local team members teach people how to prevent Medicare fraud and assist beneficiaries with billing errors and disputes. If a beneficiary suspects they have been a victim of Medicare fraud, a team member will work with them to report it to the correct state and federal agencies.
