Lower speed limit on main road and new road closures planned
A temporary new speed limit and several road closures are planned for the coming weeks.
Swindon Borough Council has issued public notices about the latest traffic orders issued for the area.
A lane closure during construction and investigatory works will impose a 30mph speed limit (reference STRO10017) on Great Western Way between Meads Roundabout and Mannington Roundabout from April 28 to June 6, 2025.
Highway works will close Kingsdown Lane outside Catsbrain Retirement Village from May 26 to 31 (reference STRO10048).
Traffic to be diverted via B4006 Ermin Street and A361 Highworth Road.
Cabling works will close Medbourne Lane in Liddington from 9.30am to 3.30pm on May 6 (reference STRO10027).
Traffic to be diverted via Medbourne Lane, B4192 Liddington Hill, The Ridgeway, Badbury Lane to Ridgeway, Badbury Lane, Medbourne Lane and vice versa.
Resurfacing works will close Trenchard Road in Stanton Fitzwarren between Mill Road and B4019 Highworth Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm on April 28 (reference STRO10049).

Traffic to be diverted via B4019 Highworth Road, B4019 Cricklade Road, A361 Highworth Road, A361 Swindon Street, A361 Swindon Road, A361 Highworth Road, Stanton Park Lane, The Avenue, Trenchard Road and vice versa.
Development works will close the footways on Lowry Way and Hayman Crescent on either side of the junction of the development with the opposite footway (reference STRO10041) from April 27 for 12 months.
The SNN Bungalows Project will close Ventnor Close between properties No 25 and 36 from May 1 to October 31, 2025 (reference STRO10065). No alternative route.
Openreach works will close Church Row in Hinton Parva between Little Hinton Lane and Tuckers Lane from 9.30am to 3.30pm on May 8 (reference STRO10056).
Traffic to be diverted via Tuckers Lane, Body Horse Hill and vice versa.
Roadworks will close Woodland View in Wroughton (reference STRO10048) but no further detail of times or diversion route has been published.
The Shaw Ridge footbridge will be closed for works over Tewkesbury Way between the Ramleaze Drive and Whitehill Way Roundabouts from May 12 to June 6, 2025.
Pedestrians and cyclists to be diverted via the path through Shaw Ridge Linear Park, Grange Park and Ramleaze.
