BCCI name board room in Sachin Tendulkar's honour at Mumbai Headquarters
The Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) named a board room after the legendary Sachin Tendulkar at their headquarters in Mumbai. The board room named 'SRT 100', which recognises Tendulkar's outstanding contributions to Indian cricket, was inaugurated by the legendary batter a video shared by the BCCI on their social media handles, Tendulkar is seen inaugurating the board room as he thanks BCCI President Roger Binny, Secretary Devajit Saikia, Vice President Rajeev Shukla and other dignitaries present at the his visit to the BCCI headquarters, Tendulkar pointed to the 1983 World Cup trophy, which inspired him to be a cricketer. The Master Blaster also holds the record for most centuries in Test cricket (51). Earlier, BCCI also named a board room after legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar.

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar earlier this month inaugurated a board room named after him, 'SRT 100', at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, a video of which was posted by the board on its social media handles on Saturday, May 17, where Tendulkar was seen reminiscing about some of his fondest memories. The batting legend is regarded as one of the best batters to have graced not just Indian cricket but world cricket as well. Besides Tendulkar, a room named after Sunil Gavaskar was also inaugurated on the day. From there to this place, it's a remarkable transformation," Tendulkar said while speaking at the get-together. 'What makes the place even more special is these priceless trophies. Meanwhile, if there was one cricketer who was considered worthy of bettering Tendulkar's record of 100 international centuries, it was ace batter Virat Kohli. When the batting legend was asked in an award ceremony after hitting his 100th hundred, who could break his record, he took two names: Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Within a week, both Rohit and Kohli retired from Tests. The latter, who quit the Test arena on Monday, is still 18 centuries away from equalling the incredible milestone and now has just one format to play, maybe for a maximum of two years. 'Heart touching moment for me': Sachin Tendulkar inaugurates 'SRT 100' at BCCI HQ

(Image: BCCI) Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated a board room named after him at the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) headquarters in Mumbai. The room has been named as " SRT 100 ". In a media statement, BCCI said the room has been named after the Master Blaster "to recognise his outstanding contributions to Indian cricket ". At the inauguration event, Tendulkar was joined by BCCI administrators: Roger Binny (Honorary President), Rajeev Shukla (Honorary Vice President), Devajit Saikia (Honorary Secretary) and Rohan Dessai (Honorary Joint Secretary). Tendulkar relived his illustrious journey as a cricketer, from watching the Prudential Cup (now called the ODI World Cup) to his first tour of Pakistan, to the 2011 ODI Cricket World Cup , with the final being played at the Wankhede Stadium . The current BCCI HQ are housed at the iconic venue in Mumbai. During the speech, Tendulkar spoke about the disappointment of 2007 World Cup where India exited in the group stage. "2007 when we got back from the West Indies, number of thoughts came to me. Whether it was time to continue or move aside. I remember having a conversation with my brother. My brother said, 'In 2011, the World Cup will be played in India and the final will be in Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium. With this trophy, can you imagine yourself taking a victory lap.' That's where the journey began again. For those four years, there was only one goal. This trophy," said Tendulkar while pointing at the World Cup trophy.
