SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Pet owners in Shreveport can have their pets spayed or neutered for free. Robinson Rescue will hosts its SSNIP (Subsidized Spay and Neuter Incentive Program) Voucher Day for residents of Caddo and Bossier Parishes. This event will provide free spay/neuter surgeries and rabies vaccinations for pets belonging to qualifying households. Spring cleaning mistakes that could harm your pet To be eligible, residents must earn $2,100 or less per month as individuals, or $3,100 or less as a married couple. A valid photo ID and proof of income are required. Do not bring your pet, as your surgery will be scheduled for a later day. According to a press release, the next SSNIP (Subsidized Spay Neuter Incentive Program) Voucher Day on Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the clinic, located at 2515 Line Ave. More local news The program is a free life-saving initiative that provides spay and neuter surgeries and rabies vaccinations to pets owned by qualifying residents of Caddo and Bossier parishes. A spokesperson with Robison's Rescue says to be eligible, pet owners must earn $2,100 or less per month as an individual or $3,100 or less per month as a married couple. Participants must bring a valid ID and a copy of proof of income that will be kept on file. No appointment is needed, just stop by during event hours.
