A group of Sandy Springs first responders may now add 'hero' to their list of titles, after being recognized for saving a choking baby. Officials said thanks to the child's parents' quick thinking, first responders arrived and sprang right into action. The entire incident was all caught on body camera video. Life-saving techniques were used, and the child began breathing again. Sandy Springs police say the incident is a powerful reminder that choking can happen in an instant. 'Always stay alert, be prepared to act and dial 911 immediately,' the SSPD said. Sac State PD looking for arson suspect who fled on foot
( — Sacramento State Police Department is looking for a female suspect who lit a dumpster on fire at Hornet Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. According to SSPD, no one was injured, but the dumpster sustained damage. The suspect fled the area on foot toward the Hornet Tunnel, said police. Fairfield man indicted for failing to pay over $2 million in employment taxes The suspect is described by police as a white woman, between 35-45 years old, with a thin build. Police said she was spotted wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with jean shorts and black Converse-style shoes with white laces. This is an active investigation. A metro Atlanta police department asks the public to 'bear' with them, as they received a call about an unexpected guest. Officers made sure the area was safe and gave the bear plenty of space to climb down and head back to his home. "Thanks to everyone for staying calm and giving nature its room," SSPD said. WATCH: Driver plows into utility pole during chase on busy Sandy Springs road
A man was arrested and charged after he led officers on a chase in Sandy Springs, police said. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Around 10:35 p.m., on March 26, officers were called to a hit-and-run accident at 7875 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The address appears to be a plaza with several businesses. Dispatch told police the suspect's vehicle was a black SUV traveling south on Roswell Road. Sandy Springs police said they spotted the SUV improperly stopped in the road in the area of 7200 Roswell Road. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver, identified as Loren Andrew Mulville, sped away, driving south on Roswell Road. Police said they tried to stop Mulville two more times but he continued speeding on the road. WATCH: Driver turns truck's lights off during chase on GA 400 while going 100+ mph
Police in Sandy Springs released dashcam video of a chase where a driver fled from one metro Atlanta city to the next. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Feb. 28, around 11:23 p.m., Sandy Springs officers were contacted by Forsyth County deputies about a red Ford F-150 with a temporary tag driven by Jose Ramirez-Rodas. Sandy Springs officials Ramirez-Rodas fled from Forsyth County deputies on Georgia 400 southbound and was headed towards Sandy Springs. Ten minutes later, officers sitting on GA-400 southbound near Interstate 285, spotted the truck and got behind the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop. Police said Ramirez-Rodas stopped, but as officers got out of their patrol vehicles, the suspect drove off and continued traveling eastbound. After a short chase, Sandy Springs police executed a PIT maneuver, stopping the truck and ending the chase.
