Rain on Thursday night affects IndiGo flights

Pune: The heavy downpour on Thursday night affected operations of three IndiGo flights —from Pune to Chennai, another from Bengaluru to Pune and the third to Pune from Dubai. The Pune-Chennai flight (6E-238) was supposed to take off at 10.45pm, but flew only by 3.07am on Friday. IndiGo flight (6E-441) from Bengaluru to Pune had to be diverted to Mumbai as a result. The flight departed from Bengaluru at 8.50pm and was to land in Pune by 10.10pm and fly onwards to Chennai. S Sujit Nayak, a flyer travelling to Chennai, said on X: "The flight was scheduled to depart at 10.45pm, but it is 2.15am now and flyers are losing patience. Airline representatives have no clue when the flight will take off. One traveller has to attend an examination tomorrow (Friday). The crew is missing," he said. Airport officials confirmed that 6E-441 was scheduled to arrive in Pune by 10.05pm. "It had to be diverted to Mumbai because of bad weather. Subsequently, the flight landed in Pune around 1.32am. The same flight flew to Chennai around 3.07am," an official said. The third flight (6E-1484) departed from Dubai around 5.37pm and was to land in Pune by 10.05pm. Flyer Abhishek Bharadwaj said on X, "The plane coming from Dubai is waiting to land in Pune for quite some time..." After some time, he wrote another post: "And finally it lands after waiting for an hour as the rain subsides. Flights carry a lot of extra fuel to overcome such scenarios." The flight, according to Flightradar24, landed in Pune around 10.57pm.
