Tyreece Simpson set for World Cup qualifiers after first international call-up
Selected - Tyreece Simpson has been called up to the St Kitts and Nevis squad for the first time for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers (Image: STEVE BRADING) TYREECE Simpson has received his first international call-up. The 23-year-old striker, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Colchester United from Stevenage, has travelled to the Caribbean after being named in the St Kitts and Nevis squad for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada. Advertisement Simpson will be hoping to feature for the Sugar Boyz when they face Dwight Yorke's Trinidad and Tobago at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, on Saturday. Simpson joined Colchester on loan from Stevenage, in January. In total, the former Ipswich Town youngster made 20 league appearances for the U's, six of which were starts. Pictures: People arrive in huge numbers in support of national charity march
DOZENS of people turned out to support the Colchester leg of a national initiative to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The Colchester leg saw many go from the U's JobServe Community Stadium as they made the 16-mile trip to Portman Road. Raising funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, various ex-pros came out to show their support for the cause. 'He's a smashing lad and he was a great footballer, so to be able to support him and the cause was great. 'All the various other big hitters have their reasons for taking part and we all know someone or been in contact with someone suffering. 'Hopefully one day they will find some way of curing it cause it is a terrible illness and one of the worst I've seen. 'I was glad to be a part of it and I'll continue to support the cause.'
