Envision and SUN Terra to drive clean energy transition in key markets

Green hydrogen producer Envision Energy has entered an alliance with Indonesia's renewable energy firm SUN Terra to build a full-chain energy storage ecosystem. The collaboration will support the clean energy transition in regions such as Southeast Asia, India and Australia by improving global supply chains and local manufacturing capabilities. Both companies will focus on multiple aspects of energy storage, including system procurement, distribution, localised assembly, technology licensing and solution delivery. The goal is to create a comprehensive strategic alliance, covering the entire value chain for energy storage solutions in the target markets. Envision Energy senior vice-president and president of international product lines Kane Xu stated: "SUN Terra's strong local presence and project development capabilities are highly complementary to Envision's expertise in energy storage. Together, we will accelerate the growth of energy storage markets across Southeast Asia, India and Australia, delivering sustained momentum for enhancing local energy ecosystems." SUN Terra is a subsidiary of Indonesia's conglomerate Sinar Mas. It specialises in renewable energy development from inception to completion. With a track record of large-scale solar projects in Indonesia, Australia and India, the company provides integrated services for both energy storage systems and battery lifecycle management. SUN Terra CEO Karina Darmawan added: "As a key part of Sinar Mas' renewable energy portfolio, SUN Terra is committed to advancing clean energy development in Indonesia, Australia and India. This strategic collaboration with Envision will not only bring advanced energy storage systems to Indonesia, but also empower the localisation of production and technology advancements in the Australian and Indian markets." In December 2024, Envision Energy partnered Samruk Energy and Kazakhstan Utility Systems to advance Kazakhstan's green energy transition.
