SUPP Piasau honours fathers with heartfelt Father's Day gifts
Fathers proudly accept their specially curated Father's Day tokens of appreciation.
MIRI (June 15): Fathers in Miri received special tokens of appreciation in conjunction with Father's Day today, courtesy of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Piasau service centre team.
The SUPP Piasau mobile service team distributed 500 face towels, creatively rolled and packaged to resemble cakes, to male members of the public at the Open Air Market, Senior Citizen Street at Persiaran Kabor, and Miri Vegetable Market.
This thoughtful gift-giving initiative was the result of a collective effort involving branch committee members, as well as the women's and youth wings.
Chia Kah Furng, special aide to SUPP Piasau branch chairman Datuk Sebastian Ting – who is also Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts I – explained that it was their initiative to express their deep appreciation and love for fathers.
'Though Asian parents don't easily show affection, youths need not wait for special occasions to show their love and gratitude to their parents,' Chia remarked.

He further noted that whie the gifts were modest in nature, the act itself was a means to foster a loving and appreciative culture within the community, and to encourage younger generations to value family bonds.
'Fathers often do not express their love openly, yet they tirelessly work day and night for the well-being of their families,' said Chia.
'Their sacrifices deserve recognition,' he added.
He highlighted the importance of family values and the need to embed love, warmth, and unity within the community culture.
Looking ahead, Chia said SUPP Piasau intends to continue organising community-centric programmes that strengthen social cohesion and promote the message of love in daily life.
