Hyundai Exter S Smart and SX Smart launched: Key features and updates explained

While the new update did not bring in any mechanical or design changes, it added two new variants in the Exter lineup. Interestingly, this was the third time in 2025 when the Hyundai Exter lineup was updated. The price of SX Smart in the petrol manual version is ₹ 8,16,290 while the AMT variant is priced at ₹ 8,83,290. The price of the SX Smart Hy-CNG Duo is ₹ 9,18,490. All prices are ex-showroom. 3 Hyundai Exter S Smart and SX Smart: Features The Exter S Smart features a smart electric sunroof, LED taillamps, highline tyre pressure monitoring system, R15 (380.2 mm) styled steel wheels, rear AC vents, and LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), which is a strong value proposition in its class. Building on this, the Exter SX Smart adds even more convenience with a smart key featuring push button start, sharkfin antenna, and projector headlamps, in addition to all the features offered in the S Smart variant. Hyundai Exter gets two new variants
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has expanded the variant line-up of its entry-level SUV, the Hyundai Exter. The company has launched two new variants: S Smart and SX Smart. With this move, the carmaker aims to enhance the value and accessibility of the Exter buyers seeking premium features at competitive prices. Available in both petrol and Hy-CNG Duo options, and offering manual and AMT transmissions, the new variants promise a blend of style, safety, comfort, and performance. Key highlights include a smart electric sunroof on the S Smart variant and a smart key with push-button start on the SX Smart variant. The Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine delivering 83PS and 114Nm, available with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. The CNG variant produces 69PS and 95Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In terms of features, Exter S Smart offers an electric sunroof, LED taillamp and LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear ac vents, and 15-inch steel wheels with cover. On the other hand, the Exter SX Smart offers a smart key with push button start, electric sunroof, sharkfin antenna, tyre pressure monitoring system (TMPS), projector headlamp and 15-inch steel wheels with cover. In terms of safety, Isofix child seat anchors are now standard across the Exter range. Hyundai offers six airbags as standard. Additionally, an upgraded 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a rear camera is available as a genuine accessory for Rs 14,999, backed by a 3-year warranty.
