BMW stolen after thieves target Scots home in late-night robbery
A BMW and a haul of electronics were stolen from a home in Broxburn. Thieves targeted the property in Badger Park, West Lothian, sometime between 3.50am and 4.50am on Friday, April 25. Raiders entered the home and made off with a number of electronic items. A grey BMW M140i with the registration SY17 OPV was also nicked from the driveway. It is unclear how many people were involved in the robbery. Police Scotland are now appealing for information following the break-in and theft. Detective Constable Natalie Civil said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with any information to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone with private CCTV or any drivers who were in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage to come forward.' Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0554 of 25 April, 2025. This comes after, in a separate incident , a pensioner was battered and robbed by a masked gang in his home in Motherwell. A 74-year-old man was attacked by a gang of four masked thugs who forced entry into his property on Clydesdale Street at around 2.45am on Sunday, April 10. The men - all dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered - threatened and attacked the victim before making off with his VW Transporter van, which was loaded with tools. It's understood the thugs spoke with local accents and were wearing gloves. Officers are continuing to carry out door-to-door enquiries and will be reviewing any relevant CCTV footage. Enquiries have established the four men were hanging around in the street before entering the house. Detective Constable Saajan Learie said: 'The motive for this attack is unknown and it's imperative we trace those responsible. I am appealing to anyone in the area who may have seen or heard something to get in touch with us. Your information could prove vital in our enquiries. 'I would also urge people with dash cams and doorbell recording equipment to check their footage , there may be images relevant to our investigation.'
