10Star Cinemas offers free screenings for local Sabah shorts

Published on: Sat, May 17, 2025 Text Size: PAPAR: The Sabah Film and Visual Association (SAFVA) has welcomed 10Star Cinemas' initiative to provide free screening slots for local short films through the Sabah Short Film Screening program. The program offers two screening slots during Non-Commercial Time (10am–12pm) and Commercial Time (after 12pm) across six 10Star branches and Max Cinemas in Lahad Datu.
Advertisement A memorandum of understanding between 10Star and SAFVA will be signed in June. 10Star will serve as the exhibitor, while SAFVA will handle content coordination and screening approvals from FINAS and LPF. 10Star CEO Onn Norsal Hamzah also proposed forming a joint film review panel to ensure quality.
